Got amazing news today when I went to check with my MA to see if the ship ( The Don Juan) had officially docked in NJ/NY and unloaded my buddy. She had confirmed that the ship did in fact dock this morning and that my MINI had been released from the ship. Estimated time of arrival for the dealer was 4/28, BUT I would still have to wait till the 7th since I have a few goodies (black sport stripes, 3M clear bra, and black driving lights) and that my MA would be taking vacation while the goodies were being installed (heading to the dragon!) All was good though! I was just happy my MINI had made it safely!

Few hours later I checked my cell only to find that I had three missed calls from my MA! So I quickly called her back to find out...

MY MINI WAS AT THE DEALER! On the same day it had been brought to the US! How cool was that?! Then, even better new... She was going to have the goodies installed tomorrow and Friday, so I could have my MINI THIS Monday instead of waiting an additional week! I love the color! I was a little worried since I only saw the Lightning Blue with a white roof, and not black in person. But I'm completely happy, and I'll be happier once I get to cruise with him on my way home Monday! So, without further gabbing. Here he is right after getting off the truck! (Without his goodies!)

This whole process of tracking and such has been amazing. For everyone just joining the process, it's totally worth it. Hang in there!

Nice car TB, glad we opted for the black xenons too .

Our car is currently in the paint shop! Estimated completion date tomorrow! Anybody know if they ship cars to Southampton on weekends? The next ship leaves Monday on 4/30.

Schtuffy, my car is currently on its way to Southampton. I saw on the WW Logistics website that the Turandot departs on 4/29 and the Texas departs on 4/30. Hopefully my info is correct bc I'm not 100% sure. Also, I believe I read that they do ship on weekends. Something about pumping out 700 MINI's a day would lead me to believe that it's necessary to keep the trains moving ASAP.

For now we sit and wait!

LizzyBobio: you, as well as Schtuffy and myself are all probably going to be on the same boat. mine was released to the carrier on 4/26 as well! we might be on different ships because mine is headed to the Charleston VDC and yours should be heading to the NY VDC. our MINI's are already racing to see which one gets to us first!

The Charleston VDC is for OUTGOING X3 & X5 Spartanburg built BMWs. The ship will go to the Brunswick, Ga VDC to off-load inis & BMWs then go to Charleston to up load.

Oh, thanks for clearing that up! I had misread somewhere, I guess. So when looking up WW Logistics routes, should I be looking up ones that stop in Brunswick and not Savannah nor Charleston? Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

hopefully mine gets included in that little race!
my car was completed today (28th) so hopefully it'll be released to South Hampton soon.
i think the next ship that leaves South Hampton to NY/NJ VDC is leaving on May 3rd, due to arrive on 11th.
My dealer is less than 100 miles away from VDC so maybe i can get my car soon also!

As I promised. A picture of the MINI with his sport stripes, and driving lights installed. My MA send me this yesterday as a little teaser. Said I wasn't allowed anymore or I'd spoil it. Haha. I can't get over how good that color looks!

Got the current MINI all cleaned up, and cleaned out since I have to go into work tomorrow. So bright and early I'll be heading to the dealer Monday. Scheduled for pick up at 11:00am, but I'm sure I'll just happen to get there sooner if I get out of my appointment quickly. Hope I can sleep tomorrow night! I just wanna drive it! I've got a long course set up for a nice drive on Monday with a buddy of mine. Hoping to break it in quickly so we can see what this puppy can really do.

Yeah. :( Nothing over 4000 rpm, or 100mph for 1,400 miles. But I'll hit that 1,400 miles VERY quickly. I'll make sure of it!

Awaiting Transport!

Holy Mini!
I signed the order for our '12 Clubman S on 4/11. Of course I've been watching the OL and its status has been Scheduled for Production for over a week but I didn't check yesterday, believing it w/b a couple more weeks before any status change, if not longer.

A friend was visiting today so I logged into OL just to show him and OMG!!!
Our 12 CR/B MCCS has now been built and its status is Awaiting Transport!!!
How can they do this so quickly? It's been just 18 days from a dealer order in Portland, Oregon to already constructed and waiting for the ride from Oxford to the dock! This is truly amazing. I've waited as long as 8-1/2 months for a factor order car to arrive. (Well, truth is, that was an '07 Shelby GT/SC and it was always a long circuitous route from the Ford assembly line in Flat Rock, MI to the wrench turners at Shelby in Las Vegas...longer if post-title you had them install a Paxton s/c in their then-new Mod Shop.)

Does anyone know if Awaiting Transport means that our MCCS is at the dock? Or is it just waiting for it's ride to the boatyard?
Now I need to read up about how to figure out the ship tracking procedure. I thought I had maybe another month to do this!

I'm starting to think that we'll see our new car next month, May. Our MA originally said to expect 3 to 3-1/2 months, which would've put it out to late July.

I can't say enough good things about the way Mini has made the order processing so fun. It's a whole new world of buying a special-order car. Something tells me we're going to enjoy this one very, very much.

It's quite impressive how quickly they can make these cars. It's only been about six weeks for me, I'm picking mine up tomorrow. As for your question about "Awaiting Transportation". The owners lounge isn't always the most up to date place. Mine still says I'm En Route. But I'm picking him up from
The dealer tomorrow, and he's been there since the 25th. So I'd recommend calling the ASK-MINI help line to see what information yet can give you. They get updates daily.

Guessing your MA said 3 months because the traveltime from England to the western US is around 20 some days? As the eastern side is just 8-10 days. There's also a thread on how to track your MINI that might be helpful. I'll upload the link once I jump on my computer. (on my iPhone now.) Good luck though! You should be seeing it shortly!

The dealer can talk directly to the production computer, or at least one very nearby the production computer, so it takes no time at all to make the order. Our last one was in production before we even checked on him. We ordered on the Friday and checked on Sunday. The dealer can make changes to an order anytime up until it goes into production, obviously they got us a slot which was just about due.

I assume its at the dock, they get on a train at the factory and get off at the dock, so there's no need to wait before the dock.
