i've never found a more aptly titled forum. this has been a great support group. unfortunately, it appears that i'm not on the turandot (still says "no records found" and i pray my MINI is already on a k-line ship over here or hopping on the independence (17 days to reach brunswick!!!) which leaves on saturday, cinco de mayo. sigh...

 

My Mini is on the Topeka. Counting down the days until it arrives. I'm hoping to pick it up the last week of the month or sooner depending on how fast it gets through the VDC.

 

I would have thought that you would be on a WW ship if the final destination was Florida. Your VIN is showing up on the Owner's Lounge, and status is...Awaiting Transport? What did ASK-MINI say? And did your MA ever get back to you?

Drew, thanks for asking. I thought I would end up on the Turandot, too.
OL says "awaiting transport"
ASKMINI says "at the port awaiting a shipping vessel
MA is MIA. I'm about to shoot him another email.

What I'm assuming at this point is that my order date was two days before my production date and most of the others who've gotten on the Turandot had much earlier order dates than myself, therefore, MINI or WWL probably prioritized and placed their cars on this ship first, leaving mine to head out on the Independence which leaves on Saturday the 5th. Does this seem like a reasonable theory?
I just cannot find enough things to do to keep me busy during this waiting period.

 

My Cooper S Coupe is in the production line right now... I've called ASK-MINI three times over the last three days... only one person told me it expected completion date is May 9th.

Another week of waiting... then having to wait to see what ships are loading for Baltimore.

 

That sounds like a reasonable conclusion. Your VIN won't work on the WW website until your MINI is loaded on one of their ships. Sounds like based on the order of production you might have just missed out on the Turandot.

The WW website seems very reliable when it comes to the end user knowing which ship his/her MINI is on.

BTW I am really surprised that your MA isn't returning your emails. You've spent A LOT of money on your baby, it's not like you're buying a lawn mower. Maybe a call into the Sales Manager might be in order.

well, to give him the benefit of the doubt, he's returned all my emails pretty much instantaneously until this week. i'll give him until tomorrow and i'll make the call on friday. i'm assuming he's on vacation. then again, i just might blow up his cell phone right now.

sucks that your car was pulled off. i wouldn't want to knock out a fellow soon-to-be MINI owner. on the other hand, i don't think it was pulled off for mine bc WWL is still saying "no records found" for me.

Dude, it's not true. You can absolutely use it if you sign up and attend their event or another one somewhere else.

Just wait for the email certificate before you take delivery. call ask mini if you don't believe me not the dealer. I'd suggest doing some research on this site for all kinds of info on this

 

+2 not true. Mine is. The coupon does not specify anywhere you cant. It says in a nutshell, you 1) have to show up, 2) register at the event, 3) must purchase or lease a 2012 and take delivery between the event and July 2, 2012. Offer valid on final negotiated price AND may be combined with any other MINI offer with the exception of another email/letter/certificate offer that is available at the time of purchase

 

I finally got him!!! My OxGreen CMS has arrived and I picked him up tonight. Sorry for the not so great picture, but I am dying to show him off. I know many have said it before more, but this car is soooo much fun to drive!

Very cool... looks like it will take a couple days to get to the port after they are finished be built... so I'm guessing it will be on the ship arriving 5/19/2012.
