I called the ASK-MINI line yesterday and got the same reply that I've been getting since the 30th of last month. IN production, but hasn't entered the body shop with an estimated completition date of April 12th, which is Thursday. I'm a little worried it won't get finished on time. Sucks having to wait! Boo!

Another day down.

Ok, so in reality just one more day until the independence 2 arrives in Baltimore.

Is WW the only shipping line that carries MINIs from Southampton to Port Hueneme?

And... how do you pronounce Hueneme, anyway?

It's pronounced WAH-NEE-MEE.

It's the last way I would have ever thought to try to say it haha.

I would have said Why?Nee-Mee.

And MINIs have been known to be shipped on the K Line, one of ours came that way.

Wry,

From my research this weekend, WW is the only carrier I can find that has an "active" schedule to Port "wha nee me".

I too am waiting for the Tomar this week, I believe we will show up on WW cargo site around Wednesday or Thursday this week.

I am going to try to confirm with my MA this week what ship Lil Maky is going to be on.

Feel your pain... Ordered 3/31 and still no production number. I asked my MA and he said he still expects 6-8 weeks . If there is no production number by the end of this week I might start asking other dealers if they have an immediate slot open...

Schtuffy -

My Countryman took 12 days to show up in OL, turns out my production number was used back in '08 and the only information I could see was that of a Pepper White MCS. Sargent also took longer than the posted 7-8 days for the production process. The good news for Sargent he has plenty of presents waiting for his arrival... be patient, the process works, but unfortunately information is not always updated. As you may have read, we won't know our MINI's are onboard the ship until a few days have past...

Thanks for the reply, but I'm saying I don't even have a production number to enter into the owners lounge yet. It's as if we haven't even ordered the car, because my dealer doesn't have a JCW allocation available. I'm hoping it's because we ordered the last day of March and the dealer is simply waiting for their April allocations. I've been trying to find out when dealers get their monthly allocations, but no luck. Not sure if they even actually do it by month.

It's hard to be patient when the wife steals your STI every day and you're stuck driving a Matrix!

The process is slow, hopefully you'll get your production number soon; however the allocation process works... At least your not driving a Volvo XC 90, as I am...

I vote for Why-Nee-Me also. Here's the link to the port schedule:
http://www.portofhueneme.org/documen...l_schedule.pdf

The Tomar is due in May 2, along with a pineapple boat. My Countryman was on the Asian King, and it came in to port with a banana boat (Chiquita) and a Delmonte pineapple boat.

Hi everyone! Is anyone else's baby set to sail on the PORGY (WW) today? ETA in NYC is 4/18!

Clubbie's on her way, time to track her ship! I think I might have a glee attack shortly.

I have always pronounced, and heard it pronounced why-nee-me. I live about 25 minutes from Port Hueneme and visit the base fairly often to see friends who are stationed there.

I just put in an order for my mini cooper s, the wait is going to feel like forever, and it will take a little longer than usual due to putting an order in with the local mini dealership that has yet to open so I will have to wait about an extra month to pick it up from them(it was ordered special as part of their initial inventory for me). I figured an extra month or a little less isn't too bad of a wait in the long run. I would rather support the local business(and a nice discount for purchasing a few bmws from them in the past didn't hurt either).

Thanks for the link to the port schedule....confirms that mine will arrive on 4/11 aboard the Glorious Express!!! That's tomorrow. Here's hoping for a quick run through the VDC (fingers crossed no damage from the voyage) and a speedy trip up the coast to Portland.

Yep, are you using sailwx.info? Porgy probably just needs to update its position already!! Hopefully it's gotten a good amount of distance from Southampton since yesterday.

Gorgeous!

*sigh* Here I go again, wishing I'd ordered a coupe instead of the hardtop.

Oh well... maybe I'll trade in Stella in 2 years and get a coupe then!

As of 1:30pm PDT, 10-Apr, TOMAR has picked up a Pilot and is headed into Bremerhaven.

Hoping Lil Maky gets a ride from its next stop in Southhampton!

But still no sign on WW cargo site OK need to find something else to do.

Ordered my Spice Orange MCS Roadster on 17th March - hopefully due in the next few weeks as I live in the UK. It'll be my 9th MINI and I can't wait! Posted this on another thread but incase you missed it:

Anyone who has a MINI sitting in Southampton docks at the moment will have a little bit of history connected to their car today.

Today was the day exactly 100 years ago that the RMS Titanic set sail from the port for the first and last time. Today at noon - the moment Titanic slipped its moorings from berth 43/44 - a recording of the ship's whistle sounded around the docks.

The day has also been marked by various memorial services and reenactments at the port and around Southampton.

If you watch BBC news at the start of their report they have aerial footage which shows cars on the left waiting to leave.

The whole process is new to me, as I've never ordered a car from factory. But I do know, this waiting stuff sucks! I know once mine finally get into production, I'll be even worse! Haha. Keep me posted on your status! Hopefully they come across the pond together!
What I heard today is that it was in the body shop and will be complete and ready to head to the ship on Friday the 13th. The bad news is the ship heading to Point Hueneme leaves on Friday and the next one out is the 24th so a longer wait. Any word on yours yet?

Lil Maky-

Thanks for the update, I am too waiting for Sargent to be loaded on the Tomar and begins the long journey home. What's cool is once Tomar is at sea, we should be able to track its progress across the pond and up the west coast...
