Yeah I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t a specific measurement or something that was going to be missed. I know there’s embedded threads for the magnets but my concern was making sure the snaps lined up.

hey golf, I was just going to install mine. I bought it from the dealer but there was no hardware kit included. Did yours come with hardware?

This may be helpful to visualize how this is supposed to work:

I actually watched that video. There isnt much online about the part outside of the press releases.

I bought it for the most part so we can put our ski stuff on/off at the car and not have to go into the chalet. The bench is $300 or so and from what I am now informed, there is an additional $130 or so in parts and hardware required to install, it that isn’t included. Not really the impulse buy as I had intended.

Thanks for the video. I just watched it, and that’s a pretty clever kit. If I had a Countryman, I would definitely consider adding that.

Pretty disappointed

I ordered the bench to add to my wife' new 2023 Countryman S ALL4 through the Mini USA website. As others have noted, it did not come with any hardware. I called my dealer parts dept. and was informed the bench is a replacement part, and does not come as a kit with hardware included. He said others have also complained about this as well. OK, I said I'll order the hardware for another $72 (wow). Now the hardware has arrived with no instructions. I'm now thinking there are no instructions available as it is meant to be a factory installed option. Pretty disappointing.

I am going to attempt the DIY install. I've watched the YouTube videos. The main problem looks to be knowing where to screw in the snaps to the cargo floor to line up with the snaps installed in the bench. I guess I'll try eying it up. Also, I can't feel any pre-drilled holes for the snap screws or the magnets, either. If it turns into a sh*t show, I will ask the dealer to do it, or ask for a return and refund.

OK, pre-mature post. There ARE pre-drilled holes for both the magnets and the snaps. They are just a little hard to find by gently rubbing your finger. The material covering the floor board is very tight, and you really need to probe. I used a small nail to find them, after taking a screenshot of their location in the above video. Then, it's just six screws with a Torx driver. Victory is mine!

Wish I could help I had the dealer install mine. I did read that the nutcerts or holes are beneath the carpet on the floor. Maybe try the magnet to see if you can locate them (assuming it’s a nutcert) or overlay the part over the floor once you find one.

The cost of the hardware kit (for the record I also didn’t know it needed to be ordered separately) was offensively expensive for screws, hangers and snap fittings. I think all said and done it cost about as much as a cheap sofa. My trunk shuts automatically so the kids nearly got bonked from the lift gate, so I get limited use from it.

I didn't think of a magnet - good idea - but probing around once you know the general location worked for me. But, yeah, about $270 all in for me. What can I say, my wife wanted it. She has visions of parking somewhere pretty, sitting out the back sipping wine.......happy wife and all......lol.

We've used it a number of times and it is surprisingly useful if you remember that it's there :-) We bought our 2018 used, and the original owner optioned it with absolutely everything that was available including a heated windshield and the dynamic dampers and the picnic bench, of course.

Do you have pics of the install? I would like to see what that looks like on the 2023.
