F60 After recall, Car Play no longer available.
After recall, Car Play no longer available.
Hi everyone. 2020 Countryman S, in the US here. Wireless Car Play came factory and was working fine. Recently on my service there was also a recall done. Since that time, Car Play is missing. My phone was no longer "connected" to my car so I had to re-establish the connection. Bluetooth works fine and can control Siri as usual with the steering wheel button. However, I cannot find any way to connect to Car Play. The icon on the bottom middle of the display is gone, and I truly see no other way to connect to Car Play. In my iPhone XS Max in the Car Play settings it is continuously just turning like looking for a car to connect to. I checked in the car's option but see nothing. Am I missing something obvious here? Any tips would be really appreciated. Thank you.
Edit: Just watched a bunch of videos. In adding a new device, there used to be a third option for "Apple CarPlay". That is now gone. Did they remove my CarPlay access on purpose during a recall??

There was a widespread CarPlay outage last month from a BMW/Mini Connected issue. These were the steps provided by Mini to restore CarPlay. Did the update, came back a half hour later, and it was back.
Navigate to the vehicle’s Main Menu, and select MINI Connected
Press the “Option” key on the physical control **** Select Update MINI Services
Return to the MINI Connected menu, and select Manage Mobile Devices
Delete the phone from the MINI completely, and delete the MINI from the phone (iPhone > Settings> Bluetooth > MINI ##### > Forget This Device)
Finally, select Connect New Device and follow the instructions on the screen to finish pairing the phone and setting up with Apple CarPlay

I actually had it working just fine until mid/end last week right before the new year. They took the car in for the recall, and it hasn't worked since. I guess its a different issue than what you had explained.
She did the recall too? Glad to know it isn't my fault or anything. Thank you!!

I tried this but it isn’t working. Any idea how many times or how much time to wait after doing the update?

A bit of an old thread, but someone just posted on it so if anyone is interested, here’s what worked for us. Visit the dealer and make them code the feature back in. The dealership inadvertently wiped out our navigation and Apple CarPlay when they reprogrammed the car’s computer. They were very apologetic and when they fixed the issue they applied the latest map updates.
