Updating software

Came across this website as I was trying to get my Mini Connected app to work. Previously, I was getting an error when putting in my VIN in the app. After installing a software update from the below site, the app connected automatically. You just need to put your VIN on the website and it will provide a .bin file to install. It updates the media and telephone software on the Mini. I used a USB stick FAT32 format. Super easy!

I read the release notes for the firmware update and there's not much there. Was their a bug to squash or some enhancement to the infotainment system you were chasing with this, or did you just want something free, shiny and new?

Did you not read *my* post? I said that I read the release notes and "there's not much there". I wanted to know if there was a specific thing it fixed or some bug he was personally experiencing. How about letting him reply thank you very much.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, he said exactly what problem he was experiencing and that this apparently fixed it.

You are right. I read it too quickly. Thought he was having problems only with submitting his VIN on the site. Please forgive my snarky response.

I couldn't get that update to download either, then I tried right-click / "open in new tab" on the download button, and it downloaded right away. I haven't tried applying it yet so I'm not sure what changes. But I too get an error when entering my VIN in the Mini Connected app, so here's hoping for some improvements there.
