I see the "jacking points" on the car as explained in the manual. However, my question is if I jack the car up using the jacking points, where do I put the jack stand to work on the vehicle? Any suggestions.
+1 on Fly'n Brick comment. I use this method all the time, including jacking up both sides of the car pretty high (4 jackstands) to remove the front subframe, and have never had a problem. I do, however, also leave the hydraulic jack (under tension) as an extra precaution.
Not sure I would trust a length of 2x4 to lift an F60. Sure, probably works great on the R-gen cars, but the F-gen cars are quite a bit bigger and heavier...particularly the Clubman and Countryman.
You can raise from front or back and use the jacking points for stands. I've done the back successfully never had to use the front at this point. This was on an F56S, but should be the same, although beefier.

You're missing the point. The board goes parallel up against the underbody of the car between the jack points and the lift point of the jack dead center of the board which then lifts the entire side evenly. The length of the board spreads the force evenly the length of the board. Study those pictures a little closer. With it up like that, jack stands go under each jack point without have to dance around.
This thread has some dead links (which I looked up on the wayback machine), but they all seem to show vehicles other than the F60.
I called the Mini service center and they suggested lifting it at the front jack point, then slipping in a stand under the front control arm, then removing the jack, then putting a stand under the jack point. Not what I want to do.
I want to be able to lift up from the middle as the posts above advise so I can slip in the jack stands without doing the "jack stand shuffle".
Once I get a good method identified, I'm going to post a video on YouTube (I haven't found one there yet for the F60), but I'm just not confident enough in an approach to try it.
I picked up a few of the rectangular pucks that fit into the jack points on the mini and a standard round cup on my shop jack. Once up, I put a stand under the control arm where it connects to the frame.
Yes - one at a time, park brake (unless I'm working on rear brake - then make sure very flat parking spot) and chock the opposite corner. Rear, similar - find a hard point on the frame for the stand.
On the newer cars is there what appears to be a box frame like a foot or so behind the jack points? I know on gen 1 and 2 there is, I use that. 1 have used the 2x4 method on my clubman, haven’t tried on the R53 yet.
I've ordered these TSW Short Jack Points from Way Motor Works to replace the stock jack points.
Also ordered a set of Esco jack stands to go along with the Jack adapters. I have the same ones mentioned above by @ApexF60SE .
I think it will be a good solution for one or two wheels at a time, but I'm still not clear on how to end up with the car up on 4 jack stands. Are there good front/read jack points?
Update: the machine screws that come with the TSW Short Jack Points are too long for the F60. You’ll need to get 1/4x2” machine screws. Other than that the install is super easy.
