Here's our route, leaving home on Wednesday to stay the night in Pueblo then motor out through Salida and North. If anyone from New Mexico, Colorado wants to meet up in Pueblo and motro on to Copper feel free to post. We will probably be up and ready to leave Pueblo around 9ish??
Coming up from Amarillo? Meet us Wednesday evening at Raton? Or a Wednesday meetup on top of Capulin Mountain to get things started?

you're going to miss all the twisties on highway 50 by going north at canon city. it might add some time on the ride but i would definitely recommend going to at least salida before going north.

 

The 'River Road' up to Salida is beautiful, twisty, along the river (duh) and very very, um, speedy.

on the way home from OK (Grand Lake). Saw the devastation in Greensburg (total on the W side of town, nothing on the E side) and then while sleeping, my wife took a wrong turn and we ended up in....Liberal. Oh well, 90 miles out of the way not a big deal.
