MITM ~ The THANK YOU Thread
MITM ~ The THANK YOU Thread
Now that (almost) everyone has headed home, it is time to say some Thank You's to some important people. If you are inadvertently omitted, it is unintentional. Let's get started:
Jonathan Souza
- THANK YOU to all 330+ of you who attended MITM2 this year. We know that many of you put off other important plans so that you could join us this year from parts all over the USA. We thank you for your commitment to your MINI and your MINI friends and MINI Community.
- Thank you to the staff of Copper Mountain Resort and The Village at Copper. Without the help of Jordan, Erin, Maja, Kelly, Diane and all your staff, this event would not have been possible.
- Thank you to Mark Ferguson and NorthAmericanMotoring for having a thought and a vision a few years ago. This event is the result of that. Thanks to Sam Carr and Sherrill Gross who both worked tirelessly to provide such a fun event.
- Thank you to Rick Gonzales, President of MINI5280.org who tirelessly attends to details and who has such a great club to work with. Rick and his staff of volunteers headed by Shannon and Lynn made everything you enjoyed, possible.
- Thank you to our vendors and sponsors: Alta, Aesthetic Creations, AmericanMINIMates, CooperCards, Custom MINI Shop, Detailers Paradise, MINIBeotch, MINIFINI, MotoringChix, ShowCarDetailing, TwistyBitz, Way Motor Works, WEBB Motorsports, Yokohama Tires, and Whalen Shift Machine.
- And of course, thanks to our friends, supporters, mechanics, MA's and the entire staff at Ralph Schomp MINI - Shelly, Renee, Devin, Wes, et al. Without their support, there would be no MITM at all.

And a big thanks to you, Jonathan!! I'm not sure you sat down long enough for a meal or had a chance to grab even a short nap the entire weekend. Your tireless efforts making MiTM happen are appreciated!!

I'll second a big THANK YOU to Jonathan! Whenever I had a question, you were of the utmost help (and even remembered my name!).
And THANK YOU as well to all who had a hand in making this a wonderful event! This was my first major MINI event, but it certainly won't be the last.

Big hand clap...
++10 to the above.
My first National MINI event and we loved it. It was great to see all the vendors, MINIs and to think the 5280.org club has such an outstanding, active group of volunteers.
Forgot to mention my visits to the carwash. Very nice, Heather and her help were very helpful, I have a couple of extra items and a new T.
Richard is the best, he clayed a scuff out of my driver's door piano black for me and gave me a mini claying class in the process. Now if I can find a bottle of DP Glide. I'm going to try the BW later this week, just to see the improvement.
We have been looking for an event in Colorado to replace the Steamboat Springs Vintage Sports Car races, MITM fits the bill nicely.
We will be back for MITM 3.

A big thank you to all the attendees and vendors and our MINI5280 and NAM folks. It was fun talking to people (when I still could talk) and a pleasure volunteering!

(It's a good thing this is a written thank-you, since I still don't have much of a voice!

A HUGE Thank You!.. to Wes and Devin from Ralph Schomp MINI... I had a thermastat gasket leak and no coolant in my MINI and they went far above the ordinary to find a way to fix it for me there at Copper Mountain - got me back on the road to enjoy some of the scenery and back to Phoenix without any more troubles today.
Thank you!... Thank you!... Thank you!..
Thank you!... Thank you!... Thank you!..
From what I've heard, MitM was a success yet a 2nd year. No surprise to me!!
I want to thank Shannon for stepping in for me at the 11th hour and coordinating the Volunteers. Also, thank you to all the volunteers for a job well done!
Without Shannon, Dianne, Rick, Jonathan & all the other volunteers such an event wouldn't be possible
In the end, I really missed being there and being part of the action!
The mini5280.org club is a great group of people and y'all put on a great event!!

Thanks to everyone who helped to pull this together. I had a great time and met some of the greatest people. The venders were great. There was never a question that was not answered. The prople at Schomp were great and watching them take care of even the smalest problem. The drives were in some of the most beautifull parts of the mountains, even if the drive scared the tar out of you. I look forward to next year. I hope that everyone is back home safe and sound.

A big thank you to all the vendors, NAM, and Mini5280 for the best weekend of my summer. Unfortunately I got sick on the 2nd day, and still am sick. But I had a load of fun with everyone. Our Sunday drive home was great going over Loveland pass and down the Western Dragon. It was a long and lonely trip home after we all departed. Can't wait for next year’s event! Oh and Mike from Aesthetic creations, You rock!
Thank you to 5280, Richard Lin and Heather
Thank you to everyone at 5280 who worked so hard, so we could have such a great time!!!! We will be back for MITM3!!!!
I wanted to say THANK YOU again to Richard Lin for taking the time to give me my own detailing 101 class, as well as the tech session for our group on Saturday!! I learned a lot from these sessions. He showed me how to user a PC to address minor issues and make Cousteau look fabulous !!! He is such a nice guy and his detailing knowledge is second to none!! Thanks again!!!
And finally, A big thank you to Heather for the excellent car wash!! Yes, Cousteau was there at least four times
(I can not stand a dirty MINI!! ) Thank you for supplying the mitts, buckets and Mystic, so we all could keep our MINI's looking thier very best!

Thanks to all that orgainized the event. It was very well run with plenty of activities.
Great to see those I tend to only catch up with when at these things. Glad to meet to lots of new people as well. Looking forward to coming back in 08.

This year was even better than last! Especially since I got lucky and won stuff and made lots of new friends!! Thanks for the vendors who donated - can't wait to use my gift certificates and K&N filter. I never win, so this must be my lucky place to go! (One of these days I'll move back - was born and raised in Colorado)
The resort is beautiful and the staff were great.
Johnathan and clubmates - you're the best!!
Thanks!

Thanks to everyone who helped organize and plan this event. It was the highlight of the summer. Can't wait for next year. A special thanks to the people at Copper Mountain for being so accommodating and to Johnathon and Rick for all the work they put into making this a great event.
Thanks to Heather from Detailers Paradise, and Richard for hosting Thursday Morning breakfast and letting us gather and mingle through the store, Thanks to Randy Webb for leading the drive through the Western Dragon. And thanks to everyone that joined me for some Thursday "unofficial" events. I could not be at MITM this year, so Thursday was my only chance to spend time and see all the wonderful Coopers. It made for a perfect day!!!
Thanks again everyone, looking forward to next year.

I too want to thank everyone who helped put this great event on. This was our 2nd MITM and we are looking forward already to next years event. I can't begin to think of everyone who helped make this a great event but I do want to thank the people who put on the car wash, the vendors, all the ones who put on the tech talks, Ralph Schomp Mini, (Shelly & Renee), the great club who worked so hard to make this event come off, and finally the people who showed up to make this happen. Jonathan and Rick, thanks for all your hard work for the last year, (and the year to come). I am so sorry I didn't get to tell either of you "goodbye". Jonathan, thank you for remembering our anniversary! I got to see friends I made last year and make some new ones. The vendors were great and I really enjoyed talking to you all. I think the vendor stamp idea was a real good one. Lets do it again.
Hope everyone made it home safely!

I can't say much more than has already been said. I agree with all of it. I also attended an excellent tech session put on the Yokohamo (wait, I'll go check the spelling on the hat they gave me for free . . . oh, Yokohama) guys. They shined light into my shadowy tire knowlege. Richard Lin was unexpected sunlight in the Alaskan winter of my detailing knowledge . . . of course now I see much more, and its scary! Jonathan is a precious gem . . . .
Oh, and I now know that nekkid is a word not related to the work naked. Nekkid means dressed in all the clothing you brought to the top of Mt. Evans while remaining frozen. I did manage to do it topless, though.

Yes, Nekkid is different than Naked
and don't forget:

Had a Fan-effn'-tastic time!!!
A major thanks to Jonathan and all that were involved in MITM. Excellent facilities (Fontana could learn a few things)... 1st time to CO. and the scenery was UNBELIEVABLE. Met some great people from all over. We could go on and on.
Will definitely be back.
Hated to leave. But we did at 5am mtn. Sun pulled into home in NC @ 8:20am edt. (6:20mtn) Mon....1673mi. And I have no idea why we did that. Just 'cuz, I guess.
