How about this big a$$ pipe on passenger side, yellow arrow?
THIS is the pipe the dealer showed me a year ago "you need to replace the turbo, because there is oil in the bypass tube"
folder of images here
Specific pics of the oil here
And I think ive mentioned here or another thread about the sometime oil/coolant drip, it's been a few months, but since this turd is on jacks-I noticed some pooling up of coolant near the oil filter cap HERE
To think my kid took the Prius we had and sold it to buy this mini cooper!
I think that would be one of the cold side charge pipes. The same oil vapor that condenses as discussed about the pcv vent pipe, circled in red, gets sucked through the turbo impellers, pushed through the intercooler, pushed through the charge pipes, and finally into the intake manifold. I think having oil in the yellow pipe but not the red pipe can be an indication of internal oil passage seal in the turbo failing. I think this is technically a different failure mode for the turbo than the oil vapor being pushed through, I may be wrong. You might wonder next about oil sitting in your intercooler if it made it to the yellow pipe and you'd be right, there certainly is. I don't think this little bit of oil in the intercooler matters, I didn't worry about it, but I also make bad decisions sometimes.
That puddle is directly under the thermostat housing, there are probably stress cracks in it, or a fitting near it.
That is what I ended up using, and got it all put together and there was a slight knocking before, now that the engine mount is snug! imagine that. Thanks
