Phone Mount

Hello - Noob question I'm sure, but search got me a lot of randomness.
I have Mini Connected w/o nav, so I will probably just continue to use my phone for GPS.

Where the heck do you mount one?

I have a 6+ so I'm wondering what you guys like. I guess its going to mean some long cables if I want to plug in.

Thanks!

Kermit

I use the Cravenspeed mount that attached to the back of the tachometer. It's super sturdy and puts the phone right where you want it to be in view for GPS.

I did have to buy a Lightning extension cord so that my iPhone could be plugged in to the stereo when in the mount.

I also did the Cravenspped. For the first year I just did a universal window suction cup mount. For me it put the phone to far away to read well. I broke down and bought the Cravenspeed one and have been very happy. They are pricey and that is what delayed me because I just couldn't get my mind around spending that much for a mount.

I looked at the Cravenspeed and will probably do that. I need to play with mini connected and see if I want to bother with running wires for that. I do want power as Waze will kill a battery quick.

Ive always used a magnetic mounted option in my other vehicles but couldnt find the right spot in the Countryman. I plan on picking up a CravenSpeed XXL asap. Looks like it will fit anything I have now or in the future.

I have a Cravenspeed XXL and it is awesome. My car came with it so I was lucky. Also they stand behind their products. My clip broke recently, and they replaced it even though I didnt purchase it (I told them how my car came with it) . Great products and great company.

I just hated spending that money on a mount, but I need one and it puts the phone in a good place for Nav.

Id like to see more pics of the ProClip actually in action and hear from people who've used it. The pics make it kind of hard to see how the angle is, if a bigger phone would block the glove compartment or anything like that.

Proclip.com is your best bet. I am using the "A" pillar mount for my iPhone 7+.

A bigger phone will not block the glove box. Glove box works perfect..., I am just having one of those moments. This reminds me of the saying, I want my cake and it to situations. However, don't fret, it clears just fine.

I have the cd mount with the magnetic base. Mine doesn't fit well since the face of the CD player slot is curved. Works in my F150 though.

Pro clip mount

My pro clip mount came in today and I wasted no time installing it.

Ordered just the bare mount as I already had a stick on magnetic base. I like the mount. Only wish it angled a little more than it does. Install was straight forward and there's two small strips of double sided tape to help it stay there although when it snaps on it's not going anywhere. Seems solidly built. Plastic doesn't seem too thin.

Does not interfere with glovebox operations even with the phone mounted and I have the iPhone 7+.

Hope this helps you out.

great pics thanks! I ended up with the Cravenspeed XXL and although it looks nice, I get a decent amount of wobble in my phone that its distracting while driving, I also cant find the perfect place for it, it either blocks too much of my view or it rubs against the dash when its lower. Im sure I will get used to it but its defintely not as awesome as i was hoping. Im sure Im just being too picky.

You didn't say which model you have, I have a 06/R53 with a 6speed. I use the following:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The only thing it blocks is my gas needle, I can live with that. If you want, I can take a picture and post?

I have an R60. I think Ive also been a bit spoiled when it comes to using those magnetic holders just like 808 posted above, just makes setting the phone in place take .0002 seconds compared to this XXL which is a big clip that needs to be opened, place the phone in just right so it doesnt push any side buttons and then get it positioned properly. I might look into converting my XXL mounting ball to a magnetic holder type.

phone mount

I have this ProClip Mount and it is very easy to use and was easy to move from my '12 to my '15. No sticky mount...just fits under the bezel plastic.

I use the Koomus Pro and my son uses the CD mounted Koomus. Been on the dash of my R52, Jeep Grand Cherokee and one on the Honda Pilot more than a year each. Works great and can be put almost anywhere.http://www.koomus.com/
