Best exhaust for sound?

Hi guys,
I've been researching for a while now trying to find the best aftermarket exhaust for a countryman but every single one I find and look up on YouTube, they sound really dull. Not what I'd expect from a $800+ exhaust system. The Magnaflow one I found (part #15490) literally sounded just like the stock system, and the NM engineering one didn't sound a whole lot better either.

Does anybody know of any systems that change the sound quite a bit? Without having to buy a custom exhaust. I care about performance increases too but the sound is also a major part for me.

Thanks!

I had a local exhaust company build me a custom Magnaflow Exhaust and eliminated the Res and it sounds amazing. Keep in mind the video's on line do not do most of the systems justice. I can tell you that I am very happy with the MF system on all levels.

Hey HAZTRONIC,

Look up VIP Custom Parts in Arizona. They produce exceptional systems that are beautifully TIG-Welded T304 SS.

They make a system that replaces the entire factory system all the way back to the Downpipe, eliminating the 2nd Cat & Rez.

Considering I paid $900 for the NM Catback...... I think their system is a steal at $1200. I actually reached out to them and had them make me the front section ONLY of their complete system, and I mated it to my NM Rear.

So now I have AKRO DP, VIP Front Section (Custom Ordered), and the NM Catback....

I have to tell you... It sounds freaking amazing! The Pop & Burble is outta control and gives some serious bang, and under hard load the engine has an almost sounds like the mixture of an M3 and a WRX! Weird right?!!

Anyways, I will try to upload a sound clip as I have been promising others for months, but you should check out VIP.

Good Luck.

Quicksilver

I maxed my budget on the quicksilver since its stainless and will probably outlast the car. It's loud and with the sport button it pops so loud it sounds like there should be flames coming out the back! The carbon fiber tips look real classy too

I recommend hearing an exhaust in person if possible. Videos never give you a true feeling for the volume and tone of an exhaust.

There are sound clips of both on you tube. The quicksilver looks as good as it sounds👍
