Hello Guys,
I have a 2015 MCS all 4 purchased the car in January of this year. I took it to my dealer body shop to change the roof color and to my surprise the body shop advisor informed me that the new CMS with the gloss black roof option is just a sticker and then he proceeded to lift the tailgate up and showed me the outlined of the sticker.. I most admit this surprised me because the dealer and the miniusa.com website did not mentioned anything about sticker I was under the impression it was paint. I called my advisor at the dealer and of course he have no idea it was a sticker on the roof. I asked the product manager on the miniusa.com owners lounge and still waiting for an answer.
Has anyone experienced this and I hope you guys take a look at you CMS and let me know if you have a sticker also.

 

I have a 2015 with a black roof. I will look but am 99.9% sure it's painted on. I believe what you are seeing is the paint line. I saw a video once that shows how they do the contrasting roof. The car gets painted entirely the body color. Then someone hand masks off the roof and it is sprayed separately by hand. The line where this happens is probably thicker giving the appearance of a sticker.

 

Please look at it on yours, if i knew how this gloss paint scratch so easily i would have never order it... it sucks
