R60 Gasoline in my engine oil!
Wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I have a new 2014 Countryman All4, purchased in August; initially I was concerned back in September about it burning "rich" (really black exhaust pipes and I felt poor fuel mileage too) called the dealership and they assured me that everything was ok, normal due to the turbos. Last week I noticed that my car was sounding funny, almost like a diesel-and now I could smell gas from the exhaust as well. Checked my dip stick- reading 3 inches past the full mark and smells of pure gas. Called the dealership and they advised I not drive it until I spoke to the service department-now I'm waiting on a tow truck to tow it in. A little frustrated and concerned, I love my car! Would love to hear if anyone else has had this happen to them.
Sounds like a bad injector...
When a direct injected injector fails, they can "stream", pouring excess fuel into the cylinders, watering down the oil...happens in diesel engines using direct injection pretty often..so the fact it would happen in a gasoline engine is not unexpected....
DO NOT DRIVE IT..
Get it towed as the dealer is suggesting...
They will check the injectors, change the oil...should be good to go in a couple days...a couple hours of work...but you ARE dealing with a dealer!!

Hmmm, last time i checked my oil it was at the max line while the engine was cold, and it did smell a lot like gas, might have to recheck just to make sure as my gas mileage has been pretty awful as of late (300 km's from a full tank of 94). Bought the car a month ago, so i wasnt sure if it was normal or not, reading this makes me weary.

An simple standard test - which is to try to light the dipstick on fire will indicate if there is excessive fuel in the oil.
Of course our cars has plastic dip sticks - so I don't think thats a good test.
Black pipes are NORMAL on every S-Mini with an N-14 or N18 motor. If your Countryman has low MPG, well.. its a Countryman All 4. After having one as a rental - yes they get poor MPG when put next to a hardtop "S" model. ( was getting like 23'ish with mixed driving..).
BUT - Yea, if its that full - its way over full of fuel - sounds like an injector dump. Goodluck.

I drive 150 miles per day/ 6 days a week! Took it to dealer and they said they couldn't smell anything so I got oil change. Now I got 102,000 miles and pulled dipstick out and smells like fuel again. Also sending a oil sample for analysis.
Usually if you actually ARE putting fuel into the oil, you tend to have a misfire code in whatever cyl. is misfiring[ like a bad or poor injector], and Air mixture faults set as well since the O2 sensors are trying to deal with a rich mixture from that unburned fuel as it's pushed through the crankcase vent system and consumed by the engine. So, no fault codes, and your engine feels like it's running smooth at all times, esp. cold starts?
