Plasti Dipped my side mirrors, air ducts and headligh trims

Dipped them yesterday with first white, second with red, third coat was metallic red and last glossifier. Came out pretty nice instead of spending hundreds for the OEMs. I am goig to plastic dip the grill trim and the brake light trim next week.

How's the texture and how would it hold up when washing the car? Have not tried plasti-dipping anything yet but have planned on doing the same thing you just did. Great work!

As you know, the plastic dip still has the rubbery texture and feel, it doesn't bother me, if I don't like it anymore I can just peel them off. It's pretty durable, had them on all my previous autos, no problem at all when washing them.

there's a few threads around about how to remove the head/tail light rings to get the best coverage. from my experience, warm the PD before you spray it, either in the sun or in warm water and it sprays a lot thinner and doesn't texturize the surface quite as much. thin coats and patience go a long way as well. it's lasted almost 2 years on my rings and roof rack cross bars without any issues so far. i even did the grill and wheel covers on my F350 work truck and it's held up great there too.

What tool did you use to get those ducts loose? Looks like 2 tabs, top and bottom?

Just the trim removal tools, yes 2 tabs on the top and bottom and one corner tab too, it's pretty easy

I had to take my mirror covers off to repair a scratch tonight...so I took a photo to show where the tabs are located for anybody interested in the side mirrors - this is driver's side
