R60 Is anyone problem-free?
Is anyone problem-free?
I see all the threads of 'would you buy it again' and 'i have x and y problems', but here's my predicament.
I need something with more space, and the Countryman fits the bill. Used 2011 S All4's are in my price rance, or 2012 S's.
Does anyone own one of these and NOT have serious problems? By not serious, I'm not talking about a creak or rattle. Clutches, electrical, etc I define as serious.
Thanks!

Bought a brand new automatic 2011 Countryman put 42,000 miles on it. Not one single issue. Not even a creak.
Also, we have a 2006 hardtop S manual with 70,000, a 2010 justacooper automatic with 17,000, and a 2014 Clubman S manual with a whopping 1,200 on it. Not one of them have given us a single problem.
In fairness, we also had a 2006 justacooper automatic with 70,000 miles on it worth probably $6,000. The transmission showed signs of going so MINI replaced the entire thing at its sole expense. We just asked and they said OK. Obviously, we are pretty loyal to the MINI brand and that may have helped, but I cannot say enough good things about the cars or the company.

bought a new, custom ordered CMSA4 in March of 2012 and other than an occasional "DSC inactive" error that goes away, nothing serious, I even tried to believe my clutch was bad but it has been solid the whole time. 15k miles and counting. I'd drive it every day if my wife didn't also want to.
2011 S manual w 53000 miles on it. Besides from routine maintenance visit, she is good to me..knock on wood....

8k miles here and no issues at all...OK, I know, that probably does not count because the car is basically brand new!
Love, love, love the Xenons....when I get in my truck now, the light from the non-Xenons looks really yellow...

march '12 build date CMS All4, ~15K miles
Temp sensor "recall" was performed although i had no problem with the oem sensor prior to the replacement.
while in for an oil/filter change, the mechanic noted a slight leak on the oil solenoid, no oil was even dripping off the car, but they insisted on replacing it with "updated" parts ... warranty, no cost and they tell me this is a permanent fix.
other than that, just oil/filters and gas (and lots of mods!)
no rattles, creaks or groans
no leaks
A/C blows 42F air when the outside temp is over 100F
the OEM 18" summer pirelli P7 RFs didn't make 10K miles before they got so loud that i replaced them ... they still have about 1/2 tread left.
if you live in the snow belt, get a set of winter tires ... the All4 is fantastic with winters in the snow
i would buy another and the only change i would make is to add the MINI alarm ... i passed figuring an aftermarket alarm would be cheaper and better, but that is not the case
Ditto on the HID headlights ... a must have
the seat heaters are nice too

2009 Clubman. Only issue that turned out to be covered by recall for the timing chain issues. It also had a valve cleaning which I am to understand is normal for most of these cars. 69k and other then the above all good.
One year, 6400 miles, 2 oil services, and no problems (knock on wood). We did however purchase an additional 3 years of warrantee to cover the unexpected. Sorta like carrying an umbrella on a day that it might rain, and you don't want it to.

Thank you all for your responses. It's nice to see that there are several examples of uneventful countryman ownership.
What sorts of things should I keep an eye out for when buying a used 2011 All4? Are there problem areas to watch for? Things to know?
