R60 Is anyone problem-free?
I have a 2012 Countryman (non-S) with almost 32,000 miles on it (I bought it with 13,500 miles), and the only issue I had was that a power window motor needed to be replaced under warranty. No big deal. It's my third MINI. All of them have been non-S models (a 2006 R50 Checkmate, a 2010 R56 non-S, and now my Countryman), and I have never had any problems with any of them. All have been very reliable and a blast to own.
I purchased a 2014 Countryman 3 months and 2000 miles ago and have not had a stitch of trouble. So far, I love it and it surely is one of the most fun cars to drive. My only problem with it is that my wife leaves the house before me and she keeps taking it. I may have to beat some sense into her.
I bought a manual so my wife couldn't drive it (and because they're way more fun to drive).
2012 and I think mine is near 40k miles. We had some kind of recall thing replaced. I think it was the temp sensor thingy that was mentioned before... Also our XM radio went bad and needed to be replaced and the radio volume randomly only seems to allow itself to be half as loud as normal... This also did this before the XM went out. We had the XM unit replaced and it still does this.
However besides that inconvenience nothing else. Nothing broke, car runs, drives, and sounds like new. It's had 2 winters up here where temps get to -35F, high 90's in the summer, and it's seen it's fair share of snow in the winter/mud in the summer. AWD definatly gets used and has no issues. Just oil changes and it's yearly physical.

Well I must say It is good to see owners that are happy. Since i just bought my All4 Manual. I was worried about the clutch but it seems to be fine for now.
I called the mini dealership about my vehicle, since i bought it at a non mini dealership and they told me that two Recalls had been done ( coolant Temp & Timing chain). I feel a little at ease and hope to have nothing major happen although I still have warranty to 11/14

2013 "s" model with 22k miles and happy as a clam. So far 2 oil changes and just got the front pads replaced- basic maintenance stuff. Overall excellent purchase to date.
I think one of the keys is having a great dealership and Hendrix Mini in Charlotte has proved to be outstanding.

the clutch on the '11s were an issue, i'm not sure if they were recalled or not.

Despite thinking it's a crap MINI (it is a good car, just a terrible MINI) mine has run near faultlessly, the only issue was the drivers side front speaker, it stopped working twice, the first one was replaced under warranty the second one annoyed me so I ended up raplacing all the speakers with Focal speakers and amp.
Also make sure the car you're looking at has the flat floor in the boot, the standard floor is a travesty and should never have made it to production, even **** boxes from Korea have flat boot floors.

ITT, people happy that their 2 year old cars with haven't broken yet. One person here even was happy even though their rear window broke. If you said this crap over at a Honda forum they would thing you were insane.
For the record, I love my car, but many people here are delusional about the reliability of these cars. SMH
The troll has returned.
Why do you and KiwiRob have so much issue with posters who haven't had the problems with their MINI's? Is it just an opportunity to crap on other members because they dont share your beliefs? So what if the fun factor outweighs the reliability factor...
Someone is a little bitter. Think he needs a hug.
4 years with a Clubman and a flat tire was the only problems. 30 days with the Countryman All4 S and I have found no problems. With a couple of the folks on this site trying to convince me it is no good and still no problems.

2014 CM Auto, 9k miles, 1 oil change last week. Not a single problem. Nothing rattles despite spending half the time over pot holes in San Francisco. Now, I wonder if I should have bought CMS All4 instead.
An overwhelming number of 2011 owners had significant problems with their cars. Just go back and look at the posts during that time. But as you can see here, there are certainly owners who didn't have any trouble at all.
I have been active on this form for many years, and my sense is that the number of problems has decreased with each successive model year. If you go back and look at the old posts, I think you might draw the same conclusion.
As for our experience, we had a 2012 all4 that BMW replaced under threat of a lemon law action, because it had major electrical system issues.
We now have a 2013 that we've had a much better experience with. We are approaching 20,000 miles, and the only problems have been that the driver seat lumbar mechanism had to be replaced, and we need to add a bottle of Techron to the fuel tank with every other fill up, otherwise the engine starts to idle very rough. Interestingly, I have not heard one other owner report the same problem. We did have several instances of the engine cutting out during hard acceleration, but somehow that problem seemed to resolve itself. It has not happened in a long time. Not sure if it is related to our using the Techron.
BTW, I second that Fred the service manager in Morristown is a decent guy.
