I'm with the 37%. The other day I got a mailing from MINI letting me know that I had less than 6 months on my lease and they enclosed a brochure of all the cars that would be available to me at the end. The 6 months news gave me a big grin and I tossed the brochure.
I think not. I also got the call to let me know I could get out of my lease and enjoy a new CM. but I think I will be getting a Nissan Nismo or a Fiat 500l. Both dealerships are much, much closer to home and the dealer location has been the on,y part of CM ownership that has bothered me really.
I love the car. If I was going to get a new one I would keep the xenon s and comfort access, have cloth, heated, seats, instead of leatherette. Would keep the four seat configuration, do not like the bench in the CM.

I'm looking at the 2014 Mazda3 S Grand Touring hatch. $30K and beats the pantaloons off the CM. And the Soul Red is fab-u-lous with an almond two-tone interior.
Will have a look at that. Hubby hates the Soul, not a chance of that in my driveway.
The Juke or Nismo has AWD and that is why it is at the too of my list. Living in the boonies means I sometimes need it to get out the driveway.
I will be test driving lots of cars this winter.
Not the Kia Soul, the Mazda color (colour?) Soul Red.
Unfortunately, no 4 wheel drive.

I'm at about 70% that I would NOT buy another one! I have owned a lot of brand new cars in my time, and only one other car had to be taken back to the dealer for repairs (x2), and that was a Dodge for pity sake. As much as I love this car, I hate it just a bit more due to all the problems I have had with it. Once the CLA 4Matic hits the US, the CMS will be gone.
I wouldn't buy it again. I've owned numerous cars both luxury and non, and the CM has too many flaws for a $30k plus vehicle. I've owned this one for three months and find myself looking at the Focus ST and the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with envy.
Yes and yes again.
I love this car. Beats my Nissan Juke turbo AWD and mazda cx-7 turbo AWD hands down. First mini for me and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I live in rural northern nevada on several miles of washboard dirt road. My only complaint is that my CMSall4 is always dusty. I drive a lot, already >5000 miles in <3months. I had the first oil change/air filter (yes dirty already, joys of a dirt road, gonna switch to K&N), and prob new tires within the next two years. Hey, I wore out the Juke goodyear RSAs in 13,000m
This car rocks in the snow too! In the words of another "take care of your countryman and he will take care of you". Hence the 5000mi oil change...

I would buy another one, but the dealer distance is a pain in the neck. In addition repairs are too costly and having to use premium gas are drawbacks. If the repairs become too numerous, it would not take much too push me into the no I would not buy another one.
Probably. In fact, if Lana were totalled or stolen, I'd definitely get another CMS, but I've only had her 5 months so cannot say what I'd do 2-4 yrs out. I would make some changes though.
- Remove the sunroof. Rattles about 20% of the days until the car has sort of warmed up, and I'd be ok without it.
- get rear parking sensor. Rear visibility is horrible. Scares the crap out of me to back out of my driveway in the middle of the day with all the little kids running around. Standing, they are below the window line.
- Still waffling on All4. I don't have it and am ok with it, but sometimes I want it, but I think that is just so I can say I have it.
- Would hate HATE HATE to give up the rear buckets. Sorry this was dropped for 2014. I love them in my 2013.
- I'd probably spring for the folding mirror package.
I asked nearly the same question on this forum a year ago when I first started looking at the Countryman as living in the mountains of Colorado I need reliability and MINI wasn't known for that. After reading a LOT of posts on this site a year later I have a 2014 sitting in my garage. I've only had mine for less than 400 miles, but so far it is the most fun car I've had in 20 years. I would obviously buy it again since I just bought it, but I probably added too many options. I think if I were to do it again I would simplify to get a lower price, but I love toys, and the options are amazing. Still, this is the only car I've driven since my old 1986 RX-7 that makes me look forward to getting back in it each day. Today was my first chance to see how it does in the snow and it performed as good as my multiple Subarus ever did, but they were never fun. My only worry is a slight rattle in the dash that has started when driving over certain pavement, but I have that in my wifes fully decked out Outback too, so it's not unexpected, just unnerving. I think if you go into the purchase of a MINI expecting a Mercedes, you will be disappointed. If you go into it expecting a MINI and all the fun and potential issues that go along with it you will be loving your decision.
The Countryman was a bad experience and I pulled the plug after 18 months. Probably would still have it and been mostly satisfied if it had not been for the bad clutch and dealership refusal to take care of the problem.
Still enjoying the R53 which has been a great car from day 1. It's my better half's daily driver and I'm not sure what will replace it when the time comes. Knowing him, he would go for another MINI Cooper S hatch, but given the Countryman experience I will have him look at other options besides just MINI.

well my turn to chime in....honestly I have owned and customized to date 30 cars (and I just turned 45 years old) yes I did say thirty I have had just about every type of vehicle and this is one of the most fun, I traded in a R56 mini for my CM R60 BECAUSE IT WAS THE MORE PRACTICAL mini(4 doors) hahaha but I have to admit going to the LA auto show recently this year has made me think that I probably will not be returning to the mini brand once I am done with this loan. There are quite a few new vehicles out there now and coming out in this price range that are well, lets just say more appealing (bang for the buck) because If I were to return I would want a fully decked out JCW cm R60 which would run me up words of 45-50 grand.Dont get me wrong, I have had a lot of fun customizing my mini"s and have also been very lucky not to have experienced any issues with my R56 or R60 thus far (15,000 miles into it) but If we are being honest here I just think for the money I could be driving something a lot nicer as far as fit and finish,Quality, prestice I just think its about time to move up the ladder so to speak I have to say I might stick with a BMW though...possibly Mercedes or Audi we will see anyways that's my .02 cents

I went blindly into the R60 after an excellent 5-year experience with an R53 that I heavily modded myself. I sold a '12 E88 BMW to get into the R60, as I needed the AWD. Reading this thread has got me a little concerned. The plan is for me to drive the R60 for 3 years and then hand it off to my son when he turns 16. Hoping it lasts that long.
