Hey everyone, I have been wanting the JCW shift indicator but it is not listed for the r60 dos anyone know if it will work>

 

Not sure you need one. Just listen to the sound of the engine.

 

I thought that's what a tach was for.

 

I cant tell you myself, but my advice.... get in touch with either http://www.detroittuned.com/ OR http://www.waymotorworks.com/ Both have contact information and I'm sure could lead you in the right direction. Just my 2 cents but you got about a 50/50 chance of getting a smart remark or useful info here, good luck with the shift light.

Just a word of warning. A shift indicator light might sound cool, but anyone I know who's ever had one absolutely detested it within a week.

When I first learned to drive a manual, I swapped cars with someone for a weekend, who needed to haul some stuff. Their car had the indicator, and even for a somewhat beginner, and only for a weekend, it drove me nuts.

Having now driven manuals since 1987, I can't imagine why they ever started putting those in.

if you are tracking the car, deff get one. I got a single yellow light for my Auto 350z mounted eye level. Its setup to light up just before red line.

 

I won't feel too bad about bumping a three-month-old thread: OP, did you ever get this to work?
