do I have to buy that fogger kit? Or is there a place to pour it?

In the past I have ran a can right through the gas tank on FI motors. The last vehicle I did so threw a CEL for for running really rich. The three air flow sensors were not too happy but, cleared right up on the next tank full.

I know to add some in the gas tank, but what about PCV track? Can it be added and how?

some people are believers in it, some aren't.
i'm on the fence.

the first question is why do you think you need to use seafoam ? is there a particular reason or as preventative ? if preventative, then get the fogging kit and it will make it much easier since you'll be using it periodically.

there's a few threads over in the main forum about it, a few months ago i was thinking about using it myself until i read through them.

I typically run it every 20,000. So a fogger kit is a must?

Wouldn't say it's a must, but it let's you have throttle control and fogger control without needing a second person.

I saw that on defenders of speed site when checking up on the r60 intake. I'm on the fence also. I have read that direct injection motors are bad about deposits on the valves, so i will also be looking into it. It would be nice if someone would verify this actually cleans like it says it does.

Clint of DoS gave me the kit as a thank you for the CAI measurements. I have not tried t out yet, planning on doing it at the next oil halfway oil change in about 2,000 miles.

Clint says its vital for direct injected engine for long term. Supposedly all sorts of stuff comes out of the exhaust. Will report back.

He's run into issues and he's a pretty busy guy. I have not heard from him in awhile. Great guy. Hope the issues get resolved. Was looking forward to getting his CAI.

yeah... i got about the same response to my threads about seafoam and thoughts on installing an oil catch can with the n18. if i was sure either of them helped carbon build up in the n18 i'd do it, but there seems to be an awful lot of uncertainty about it yet.

I hear ya, I just want to know how to add it to the PCV track.

Bringing this thread back to life. I'm looking for where to put seafoam in hopes that it helps a miss/stumble/stutter type of issue under harder acceleration. I found an r56 video, but there's no tube in the same location on our Countryman S. Can anyone help identify where it goes?

If its that bad, maybe it would be worth to just get the walnut blaster treatment.

If I had some proof that carbon was the issue, I'd be fine going that route. The issue just came on today. Swapped spark plugs, and an accompanying rough idle disappeared, but the acceleration issue remained. It's a 2011 w/ 60k miles.
