I am thinking of getting a Tear Drop trailer for my 2014 Countryman, manual transmission. It is rated to 2000lbs and Tear Drops I have found are between 900lbs and 1100lbs. Is Class 1 'ok' for the job or do I need a Class 2?
6 months since my last post on this thread, and nothing to report other than adding on the miles.
Until this morning when the front brake wear light finally came on (47,300 miles) - have never been impressed with the factory brakes (SD All4 shares same components as the 1.6litre 2wd petrol), so decided to order EBC turbogroove discs and yellowstuff pads.
I know there is a lot of bad reviews of EBC brake components, largely from when they had a poor quality spell in the mid 00's. I also think a lot of posters on other forums had bad experiences due to ill matched discs and pads, plus driving way beyond what most people think safe on the public highways.
You would be amazed at how much crud comes out when you remove the housing and trim. Most of what is in the picture was wedged under the trim ring, and fell all over everything when taken out.
After 48k miles my front brakes are due some attention (one for later this week), so in preparation for new discs and pads I thought I'd better smarten the look of the calipers a little...
Start (yes, I know, it's not been washed for 5 weeks, 1500 miles)
Not the greatest pics, but I'm pretty excited to share. Please let me know what you think, both pros and cons. Thank you everyone for checking out my thread. Happy Thanksgiving

Thank you! I still need to black-out head light bezels and put on JCW rockers and front lip. The rear will come after I make up my mind what I am doing for an exhaust.

Honestly I want to do the lift thing. I'd like to find stainless pan for front and back for that look. Even if I do, probably won't want to pay for it. We'll see.
