I was washing my Countryman earlier today and noticed what appears to be a crack accross the headlight covers. Strange thing is it is on both of them and looks almost identical. I cannot feel it on the outside so it is in the material. I am wondering if this is a stress crack of some kind or a designed in feature.

Those lines are on ours as well, appears to be part of the design, maybe someone in the creative headlight design department can fill us in on the function of this feature !

Mine has them too. At first I thought they had put the clear bra over the headlights. I suspect it has something to do with the focusing aspect of the lights!?

Jimbo, those are the lines. Strange I missed them before when I washed the car. Thanks for the response. I also hope a design genius can explain them.

I saw those right away and noticed them when I picked up my car at the dealership. My SA made a point to tell me "those aren't cracks even though it looks like it" and she was right - it was exactly the same on my other light as well.

I thought the exact same thing though before she corrected me.

Yeah, when my mom finally saw my car, she thought they were cracked also. But it's just a design feature.

Or as Microsoft calls things an undocumented feature
