Nice Jason! Yeah my car was in a week early. The tracking system isn't great for us Texans. Tell Marco Howdy from MJ.

I received this information from my MA yesterday:

Work Order Started 7/16/12
Ship from VPC: 7/19/12
Dealer Delivery: 7/20/12

Does anyone know if these are estimates or actual dates? Just wondering what the chances of the car getting from Jersey City up to Westchester any earlier/later might be.

Can't comment on your dates specifically.. but my CM came on Fidelio and arrived at the dealer last night. Picking it up today. Yay!

Congrats!

What dealer is that?
My CM was on the Fidelio too, but I don't think it's gotten to Mini Manhattan yet.
Maybe yours was at the front of the line.

Do you know what the estimated delivery date on OL said? Mine says 7/20 but my MA said he had called the port to see if it could be moved up at all (I've got a difficult work schedule and am not going to be able to get to the dealership before it closes for a couple of weeks after this week). Just wondering whether that is a pipe dream or whether Bubs will be sitting all dressed up with no place to go at the dealership for a while.

PS. CONGRATS on getting your CM!!

Thanks!

My dealer is Princeton Mini. For what it's worth.. my VIN didn't show up on Fidelio until 2 days after it sailed and ol still says it's at the vdc. Mini works in mysterious ways.. but after waiting almost 2 months for my CM, I'm not complaining

But I did go see him yesterday and snapped a few photos! (more photos under Countryman Photos thread) My mouth dropped when I saw him in person, the color combination was way better than I had hoped when I placed the order! No comparison to seeing it live!

Very nice! Looks great!

I feel your pain. I leave for vacation Saturday, and my clear bra guy can't do the install before I go. It really works best this way. As much as I'd like to take the CM on the trip, I'd prefer not break it in with a long trip so soon. So I'll have it for two days, then off for a week without it.

Oh sad ! I just checked OL and my estimated delivery date has been moved up to 7/19 (today). I wonder what is going on down there?

Not to rub salt in the wound but my week has been absolute crap so it would be AMAZING if Bubs gets to Westchester today and I am able to pick her up tomorrow after work. I've got a crazy few weeks coming up and wouldn't otherwise be able to pick her up for some time if not tomorrow evening (and I'd already have to play a bit of hookie and skip out on an evening call at work to get her then),

I can feel the anticipation in all of your posts. Good to know I am not the only one not patiently waiting for my CM. My wife and I ordered our Surf Blue All4 on Sunday so we have a long time to wait. Below are my details.

Anyone in the Pacific northwest, how long did it take for you to get your baby?

Ordered 7/15/12
In production 7/19/12
Estimated production end 7/25/12
MA estimated mid September delivery

Dr Nick, I'm in Portland as well, and so far it's looking like 8 weeks is a pretty solid bet. Mine is on a boat and it's looking like a 6/22 order for a 8/18 delivery. How was your experience at Portland Mini?

Hi BigPanda. Thanks for the insight. The MA told us 8 to 10 weeks and being we took one of their non built in line orders 8 sounds a bit better. If it takes 10 oh well, worth the wait.

Our experience was great. We worked with Bob and being the whole age of of 29 (look like I'm 24) he took my wife and I for serious buyers from the beginning. He was low pressure, let us take a loooonnnnnggg test drive and helped us out with any questions. We would have liked to get more for our trade in then what we got, but he got very close to KBB trade in value. Overall one of the better purchasing experiences when it comes to cars.

She's here!!

Just got an email from my MA that Bubs is at the dealership and she will be ready for me to pick up tomorrow!! Wahoo !!! Now I just have to come up with a plausible reason to skip a 6PM status call and leave work early enough to get to the dealership before they close.

As much as I put Portland in my top 5 of where I want to live in the US, the extra 2 week wait for my MINI might be a deal breaker Kidding of course.

I got my Base CM yesterday and did my morning commute of 39 miles today.

I normally got about 29 MPG in my 1.8L Turbo VW Passat Wagon on my commute. This morning in the CM--39.7 MPG. Wha? 39.7 MPG!!!! Are you freakin' kidding me?

My employer has preferred parking for Hybrids. I think this qualifies me for a spot!

I'm assuming those numbers come from what the inboard computer is saying? I've yet to see one that was anywhere close to being accurate. I had an '03 4Runner who's computer would always say 18-20, when in reality I was getting 14-15.

I'd bet the Passat is off a bit too. My 1.8l New Beetle is lucky if it gets 24.

My '04 Passat was pretty dang accurate. I built this massive comparison spreadsheet when I was car shopping which compared new vs used, expected life of the car, cost per year, financing & payments, etc. It was pretty comprehensive as well as estimated fuel costs. Given this I used actual numbers on my Passat vs. the trip computer.

If there's a file sharing area on the forum, I'd be willing to post the tool I built. Or maybe Dropbox...

I'm doing a road trip in my CM today starting from a full tank--so I should be able to get a good read. I'll report back on this as I am curious as to the accuracy.
