Rear Bike Rack

Does Mini still offers this? I can't seem to find it on their website. I know people have complaints with it but I was still wondering if its still an option?

NEVERMIND: Doesn't fit Countryman.

thanks

Rear Bike Rack

So it does fit on a Countryman S, Great!
Is there anything extra that has to be installed by
Mini for this to work? Or will it work on all Countryman S?

If you search NAM under MINI Countryman for "bike rack" you'll get lots of hits, including:

Yes, it should fit any countryman model. Check out this slick video on youtube:

I have one, it came with EggMINI. I have not had a chance to use it extensively, but it is pretty nice. I am 6'2" and have always had my bikes on the top of my cars/trucks, so it is new to me, and my wife likes it because she can reach it!

No extra parts are needed for it. It mounts into the existing rear mounts, under those little knock outs on the back bumper. If in the US then you do not need the additional trailer lights.

It can be put on and off by one person, but i would recommend 2 people based on hom much you can carry. You can still open the back hatch withs the bikes on. Check out the video it is pretty informative.

Just trying to figure if I can get the other attachments for it. Looks like they might make one for snowborads and skis, but i can only find it for the other models, not the countryman. Maybe I can get something made, or atleast a tray for the cooler, would be great!!

Rear Bike Rack

Is the rear bike rack/carrier available anywhere else besides the dealer? I'd just like to see if I can get it for a bit cheaper? (I've checked eBay and Craigslist.... none listed)

Well I have looked around to see what it is worth, i have been thinking about selling mine.

I just saw it today from theminipartstore for $555 with another 10% off, using code NAM2012.

Where do you live? If i decide to sell mine I can let you know. I am in the Virginia area. Just not sure about the cost of shipping it is a pretty big and awkward piece to pack and ship.

Thanks for the info!!! We are looking to get one sooner than later. My other half is training for a triathalon and we need to start taking the bike with us in the next couple of weeks!! (nothing like waiting until the last minute...)

We actually live in the Philadelphia area, so depending on where you are in the VA area, it wouldn't be that bad to drive and pick it up. Let me know if you decide you don't want it and how much you'll be asking for it.

On a side note... Our countryman is also surf blue!!!

Might I say, Very good choice in color!!

Let me check with my other half to see and will let you know. I am in the Hampton Roads area, a bit south but might be able to work something out.
