Surf Blue vs Light White

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to get a little input...I am getting down to the last and most difficult (for me) decision before ordering my CM, the color. I am torn between the white and the surf blue. I know it ultimately comes down to personal preference, but I wanted to see if any of you light white/surf blue owners could give me some pros and cons based on your experiences with the car. Thank you!

So, I had a dream the other night, and I'm so glad you asked this question.. LOL

I ordered the Surf Blue and am so ready to see my car, but in my dream I dreamt I was out buying groceries and when I came back to my CMS, a white CMS with surf blue sport stripes was parked next to me...

Another option to ponder for you.

Light White with black top was my first choice. Some folks here have gotten really creative with stripes and I wish I had held my ground because Light White has so many possibilities for stripes and trim blackout.

Hmm...well I was going to order the Light White, that is what the wife wanted but i just wanted something lighter. I have a Black truck and not sure if i will ever go with a black car again.

Well as my search continued I found a few used CMS'. When it came down to it i found one that was Surf Blue with all the feature, so I went with it. From the Pics it looked SMURF blue, but when it saw it on the lot, the color seemed few fewer shades darker. I i didn't even recognized the color, but that is when i new I liked the color even more. It changes all the time and makes me fell like i have a different car allthe time.

I have plenty of white cars so i definitley like it but needed something different for my MINI.

No matter what color you pick you'll love and make your own statment in whatever you do with it.

I agree with everything you guys say...I love the fact that the there are so many different things I can do with the white, and the blue is such a unique color that I've never seen on another car. And the white with surf blue stripes is definitely intriquing! (I have no idea if I spelled that right!) I am sure the white is much easier to keep looking clean, because unfortunately I don't have a garage, and dont wash my car as often as I should! Any input on the blue as far as keeping it clean/scratches etc? Also someone told me that white cars dont oxidize...is that true? And if so, would the blue be more likely to have oxidization? Thanks for all the help! I posted on my facebook page for input on the white vs the blue, and they are exactly tied in votes!

Well I will have to say that so far i have only washed my car once and it has held up pretty well. My car is used so it does have som minor scratches. Actually it has some scratches on the top of the rear bumper that i did not notice till i ran my hand over it. Can't speak on pollen season yet, but around here everyone turn yellow during the spring.

As for white not oxidizing, thats a myth, it will oxidze if it is totally neglected. White does hide dirt very well, but you can see mud, tar and darker debras easier. In my experience silver hides dirt the best for some reason, prbably from its reflective nature.

There is some good reading on how to deatil wthout spending hours on it and with the new products out there. waxing is as easy as spraying on and wiping off.

hope this helps

I went in for a white/black top combo and came out with a surf blue/surf blue... I get a lot of compliments on the color.

That said - you can't go wrong with the Light White....

My biggest dilemma was color ... agonizing! I eventually went w/ White for many of the reasons stated here. It's like a blank canvas. I bought it with black roof and mirrors but changed out to red mirrors and brake ducts. I have my black set so if I ever get bored with the red I can switch back. My striping is white-on-white w/ red pinstripes ... change the pinstripes to black and I have a cheap mod to completely change the look of the car.

I love my Oxford Green/white roof, BUT there was a Light White R60 with black stripes, black foglights, and a roof rack parked in my health club lot a couple of mornings last week and it was stunning. I think different colors show their strengths in different lighting conditions, and the Light White is really dramatic under lights when it's dark.
I think my Oxford Green is the James Bond of colors, sophisticated yet capable. Light White with lots of black bits is like a soldier fully outfitted: you can see everything in place, and it's ready for anything.

I was thinking white at first too - but then saw so many dirty white cars I changed my mind. The two hardest colors to keep looking nice are white and black in my experience. I'd go blue - more unique color and more forgiving. (Unless of course you live somewhere where it's easier to keep a white car clean - I don't).

Just my humble opinion, but I think the CM Light White is a little...anemic. I do like what some people choose to do with stripes in a striking color though. I have an '08 Clubman in Pepper White, so maybe I'm biased. It's more of a vanilla-y white. I ordered a Surf Blue with white top, and yes, color was the most difficult decision!

Actually when I ordered my CM last year, my color dilemna was betwen Cosmic Blue and Ligh White....as you cna see in my signature line, went with Light White. Had for a year now, and will be changing the stripes again.....LW w/Black Top, Black Rims, Dark Tint, Plasti Dipped headlights/Taillight rings.....looks awesome to me....next up are black/white sport stripes with a red pinstripe........then red mirror caps.....so many options!

I love the white--but there are more of them out and about. I decided on Surf blue pretty easily (love the way the color changes depending on the light and trim). Went back and forth on roof color and whether to stripe or not. Went with the black roof and it is really sharp. No stripes.

I think both colors are great but lately I've taken more of a liking to white cars...taking delivery in 2-3 weeks hopefully...

I briefly considered white. But the occasional shearing, eating grass, saying baaaa all the time, and the part-time gig having people count me at night sounded like a bit too much upkeep.

Sealy - Pure Orange - it's a lot more fun just being squeezed in the morning.

P.S. - I really, really tried to stay out of this. Any color is great as long as you're happy.

Sealy - you're a hoot. Now you're making me reconsider my S(m)urf Blue choice. Maybe I should cancel this order and get a PO instead? And wait yet another month? Nah...then I'd have to change her name from Smurfette.
