Is that the product offered direct through Mini or purchased on your own?

Nice I have a thule rack on mine as well. I have a ski rack and room for my box when I need it.

The OP's car looks great, and nice and clean. My CM is so dirty it is horrific.

This is the Thule Atlantis 16 series, right? Looks nice! Hatch open OK? How is the wind noise at speed?

No, it is aftermarket - Thule 460R Rapid Podium Foot Pack and kit 4020 + 47 aero bars ( i spray painted to black; something from home depot - paint can with some rubber).

Yes, atlantis 1600 xt - i ordered in black. And yes - hatch opens without any problems.
Wind noise - becomes little bit noticeable after 70-80 mph but it is not bad at all - i expected much worse!

Looks great. What's the cost of this vs. the one they still as "mini" equipment?

i don't remember how much cost mini but thule 4020 podium fit kit + 460R foot pack + aero load bars = $300 (- 15% - 20% if you get various discounts).

Thank you. We're looking to buy something like this for our countryman but I wasn't sure if there were other better priced options around.

How is the radio reception without one attached? Does Sat Radio still work?

I am planning a road trip and was going to borrow a box from a friend for added storage. I might have to pack lighter if I can't get any reception.

In my area works. During ski trip my FM radio quality deteriorated but satellite radio was fine.
PS: it is easy to check – just unscrew antenna and you will get idea about reception.

Those are 47 inch bars? I just found a good deal on 53 inch bars, so I was looking around to see if anybody else had installed ones that long. It looks like the 47's stick out far enough, 3 more inches on each side might be dangerous.

You can always cut them off to required length.
Problem is that backside has t-track slots and I am not sure how far they go on 53 “. You may not even be able to fit bars on some cars (roof is too narrow for t-track slots).
Go to some store which carries them and out on the roof of your car just to make sure that they will fit.

Why did you mount the Thule crossbars so far back? According to the manual, they recommend specific locations for the bars due to roof loading. I'm not saying what you're doing is wrong -- I've got mine way forward which helped cut down on the wind noise.
