Boot Door Release

Is there a way to open the hatch with the key in the ignition? I pulled up to the supermarket and my mom was going to put the bags in the boot but I had to turn the car off and pull out the key fob to unlock the door. There has to be a way, right?

Did you try the middle toggle switch on the lower console? That's the one I use to unlock everything (doors, gas door, boot) at the same time.

If you have the power door locks, when you toggle the door lock switch on the instrument panel - that unlocks everything, doors, fuel pump door and hatch. Hope this helps.

Hmmm...I thought that it only unlocked the doors. Because even when you use the key fob you only have a couple of seconds to lift the hatch. I also didn't realize that the gas door locked. I don't think mine does because even when I use the middle toggle to lock the doors the gas door still will open.

If you are using the middle toggle to lock the doors, then you are inside the car. How too you know the gas flap will open?

Because I live in NJ and we are not allowed to pump our own gas and I have never had to unlock anything for them to get access to the gas tank. So I don't think the door locks. However I will try the toggle for the back and see if it works.

Oh, great! Now I have something else to worry about besides checking whether the light is really off when the refrigerator door is closed!

The gas door should definitely lock when you lock the doors while the ignition is off.

Someone should test whether it locks while you're driving and at what speed it locks

Because I live in MD and we are not allowed to open our own fridge, I have spent a lot of time in the crisper waiting for an authorized door attendant. Trust me, the light goes out.

LOL! My firidge is a little complicated too but that's for another day!
But for my CM I have checked it all out, well mostly!
I clicked the toggle and ran to the back and in fact the boot door did open. Thanks!
Also I locked the car and checked to see if I could open the gas tank door and it was locked. However it must be that if the car is on, it's unlocked? When I go to the gas station my car doors are locked but the key is in the ignition and the car not completely off. Anyway, learn something new everyday! Thanks again!
