I really wanted an All4 badge on the boot. These letters cost 99 cents each at Advance Auto. I may upgrade to a real All4 badge - one intended for the sides - at some point, but nobody so far has mentioned that this doesn't look right.

Not my kind of thing, but it's a free world. Although, it would've been appropriate if it was the All4, u know...

I have one of those circular magnetic stick-on "Manual" shift-patterns on the back just below the Cooper.

I also turned the "4" red on the sides.

I say, "Go for it!" The car's _supposed_ to be fun.

Allow me to be the first to mention that it "doesn't look right."
Get an "All4" side badge from MINI. It'll look much better, IMO.

Ummm it's not an All4 but you want to put a fake badge on it too fool who? And if you get a real All4 badge will it impress your neighbors or make you feel better? IMO you got a nice car and for whatever reason you decided to get the FWD version (for which there are several very legitimate reasons why someone would do that) and you should leave it as-is but to each his/her own.

BTW the green w/ white roof combo looks nice.

Sorry if I was too obscure before, but like I said a few messages up, it IS an All4!

The intended point of my post is that MINI chose to not put an All4 badge on the back of All4 cars, but I wanted one so I made my own for $4, which I may replace with the official All4 badge MINI makes for the sides of the car at some point.

The thread subject reference to being shallow and without taste refers to 1) wanting an extra badge and 2) making my own.

But thanks for the compliment on the color combo. The Polar Beige interior works well with the green and white.

Shallow, I would say no. Poor taste, no but I would not do that to mine. When I see an OEM badge that is not where it was originally I tend think the car has been in an accident and repaired at a shop that did not even have the qualifications to properly install a badge. I feel sorry that the owner was a victim of poor workmanship.

My opinion. Do as you wish.

What I would do.

Move the Cooper S to the other side of the tailgate and stick a stock All4 where the Cooper is.

It's a MINI...to NOT customize would be doing a disservice to the car

Some like badges....some don't.

Some like stripes....some don't.

Some like custom paint.... some don't.

Each to their own with customizing their vehicles but just have fun with it.

Too much wording for me, but it's your car--your happiness is what matters.

I think it's totally fine and judging from a couple of remarks, I don't dare show the set of chrome letters, that I ordered.

+1

I have no problem with the concept, but the execution could be better. Purchase the real All4 badge from a dealer. Also consider putting it on the left side of the tailgate.

We all have differant taste. Do what makes you happy, If you care about what other people think then rip it off and buy a stock one and whack it on the other side at the same level, or whatever you want.

Thats the great thing about these forums is that you can get honest opinions from people from all over the world. Even if some are harsh.

Hey, dont sweat it....I have the shape of a woman on mine....lol

Mine is the shape of a woman. Albeit a slightly zaftig woman. As for the letters - idea is OK, execution is a little off. Maybe something a little more premium looking? I took the easy route with a plate frame.

Sealy - Who wants to remind Ronin82 that people who live in glass houses shouldn't call attention to themselves.

so here are my serious thoughts...if you are leasing this vehicle...be careful what you alter on the car...you will probably be penalized when you turn your car in. if you own the car and thinking about resale, you will find less people in the market who go off OEM options. i personally feel that their is enough "you-i-fication" offered that there is no need to add aftermarket doo-hickeys (technical term haha). when i looked to purchase a used '98 Vette, i shyed away from people who added this that and the other thing...this to me was overdone (how many times can you say Corvette on a Vette??) and made me think...what else did they modify. possibly teenages won't mind but serious/experienced car buyers will in my opinion.

if you still insist on adding badges...i think there has been several posters who suggested you break it up...being in marketing and spending a lot of time on design....balance / symmetry is important...so ALL4 on one side and Cooper S on the other.

by the way, i told my dealership NOT to add their dealership badge....it is a huge pet peeve of mine when dealerships who sell a car think they can add their name to it...give me $1,000 a year and i will be happy to advertise any dealership lol.

I like Sealy's suggestion. It doesn't look as upscale as it could, and a custom license plate frame might be subtler and cleaner.

Everybody gets to customize their MINI their own way, and when they ask for input, negative input (put politely) is fair game.

Different people have different views, opinions , tastes and so on...

It's your car, your likes, your loves, why bother worrying if the others will like it or not? Make it "YOUR MINI" customize it so u love it even more.

btw i like that ALL4 badge behind
