Reduced Power Error

I am getting a reduced power error when decelerating and downshifting. Anyone else getting a similar error? See the attached photos.

Could be a variety of things and I don't know of any quick "try that first" fixes for this car. You probably will need to setup a service appointment or, if you feel the car is not safe to drive call MINI and have it towed to the dealer. I would do the latter if it were my car.

Service appointment is scheduled for Wednesday. I am concerned because this has happened five times now. Never for long, usually for a moment or two. Last time though I was coming off of the Ben Franklin Bridge and mergering on 76; not pretty to lose power on the ramp.

Let me know how it goes...mine came on once as I pulled into a shopping center parking lot after getting off of the expressway. Next time I started up, the message was gone and has not come on since. Mine is an automatic.

Happen to me about a month ago had to limp into the dealer. When I asked what the cause was, I was told the top of a spark plug came off and had to be replaced. But I have gotten the error since then it, with out the lost of power. It lasted for about a hour. I chalked it up as year one issues.

i was hoping that the turbo issues had been resolved with the 2012 turbos but doesn't sound like it.

The error appeared again today this morning. Twice on the way to work.

If I were to guess, I'd say a faulty fuel pump or a faulty sensor. I'll be interested to hear what it turns out being.

Does anyone that has experienced this problem have a code reader (i.e.; ScanGauge2 or equiv)? Be interesting to see what code it throws then we can discard the dealer BS.

Otis was at the Dr. today. Bad fuel pump. He's spending the night; should have him back tomorrow. I'll see if I can get more specifics from the SA.

The fuel pump is being replaced on my All 4 S automatic with 13,000 miles.

Had the reduced power error and it sputtered when switching gear but could drive

Took a few times to get it started but it turned on and could drive

One week after the fuel pump, the thermostat went causing major chaos. Two repairs at 2300 miles? Does not bode well.

You guys are scaring the crap out of me. You don't just have spark plugs with the tops coming off and repeated issues of fuel pump issues. This is not normal. I should be taking delivery in a few weeks so I guess I'll hope for the best.

reduced power

Just got mine back from the dealer

They replaced the thermostat and that appears to have fixed it though we shall see - This seems to make sense on my car as I had the cooling fan come on and stay on at random times when I know neither the engine/ nor ambient temps were super hot

they gave me a 535i X drive as a loaner which I had for a week over thanksgiving - although a nice car it was great to get back in smaller more nibble car (though it did highlight how $hitty the blue tooth/ mic is on the MINI)
