Help with final choices... Mini Countryman

Ladies and Gents... My wife and I are close to placing our Countryman order - but we have a few conflicts.

Here is where we sit so far:
Mini Cooper Countryman S All4
Premium PKG
Technology PKG
Cold Weather PKG
Metallic Color (Not sure which yet - Silver vs Oxford vs Cosmic)
Roof Color (Not sure which yet)
Mirror Color (Not sure which yet)
Gravity Leather (Carbon Black)
Steptronic Automatic Transmission
17“ Tunnel Spoke (2GR) Alloys (Anthracite)
Xenon Headlights
Adaptive Xenon Headlights
White Turn Signals
Second Load Floor
Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof
Anthracite Headliner
Interior Color Carbon Black
Color Line Carbon Black Trim
3 Rear Seats
All-Season Tires
Germany Delivery

What are the thoughts about color choices (Silver vs Cosmic vs Oxford). I love them all, and so does the wife. I am thinking of the more practical aspects at this point. Any difference in care? or rock chips. What about showing dirt? Any and all comments would be greatly appreciated.

Silver is a really popular choice, so if it were me, I might go with Cosmic or Oxford. I like the contrasting stripes, so Cosmic with white sport stripes would look awesome. I think black stripes would be pretty much lost on Cosmic or Oxford, so I probably wouldn't go in that direction.

So I vote for Cosmic with white roof and mirrors and white sport stripes. However, since mine's True Blue with the white roof and stripes, I'm obviously biased in favor of the blue/white look.

Great choices so far....

Metallic Color (Not sure which yet - Silver vs Oxford vs Cosmic)

If you're going for a Mini I say choose COLOR! The silver is a fine choice, especially with a contrast roof (black?). But the Oxford is really classic and the Cosmic is just fun.

Mirror Color (Not sure which yet)

Mirror "caps" or whatever they call them can be easy add-ons at the dealership. I might go for the same roof color...

What are the thoughts about color choices (Silver vs Cosmic vs Oxford). I What about showing dirt? Any and all comments would be greatly appreciated.
As far as dirt, come on, you know you're going to take care of your new baby, so go with what makes you smile...

Enjoy and hope you have lots of adventures in your new CM....

I vote for Silver / Black or Cosmic / White.

Your build is very similar to mine, so I approve of pretty much everything else

OG all over, no stripes but add sports suspension and consider a lighter look inside.

colors were our hardest decision. We had it narrowed down to three or four. To resolve this we went on line and found a MINI dealer that had a huge inventory and took a ride to see the colors in person. What we found was that many of the colors look so different in the showroom vs the color chart and in the sun. We finally decided on Light Coffee with the Black roof and mirrors. We are anxiously awaiting the delivery of our "baby"

What about Royal Grey? Haven't seen too many of those and it is a really classy colour. If I had to pick from only your three choices, I'd do Cosmic Blue.

Honestly, you're already a part of the majority of members who own the CMS model, so that leaves less room to stand out through color alone. Of course, that's where fanatical customization comes in! However, if I had to choose a color I would choose silver! It's light and goes with [almost] everything! Although Cosmic is a nice color, you may have to work at keeping it immaculate. And Oxford....bleh. I'm a girl so that's probably why that color seems so unappealing to me *snicker*

I like any color as long as it is Absolute Black. A properly maintained black ride will turn heads anywhere. Second choice would be True Blue top and bottom.

Silver is always the best color as far as showing dirt, and also probably the best with regards to rock chips. The darker the color the more likely you will see dirt/dust. Chips are more dependent on what is below the paint.

+1 for silver for best being dirty

Agree with JudgesS. Silver always looks silver...may not be as sharp as the other colors but if your car is a liitle dirty from 5 feet away looks The same. White is not bad.
One of the best colors are the very light beige metalics but MINI unfortunately does not offer that color in the CM.

my take on the colors and my choices
Royal Grey has a greenish tint, visable in the sunlight. looks good with either same roof and mirrors or brm.
Light coffee has a purplish tint visable in sunlght. looks great with a black roof and mirrors. Does not look good with whiterm and white wheels

Absolute black, needs some red stripes to make it look great. Black wheels?????
Silver Not my favorite but looks good with brm.
I just wish they would have hot chocolate available in the CM since they don't my wife selected Light Coffee. w/BRM

Good luck,

I have cosmic blue and the black jack roof and mirror graphics. Looks good. Stays clean looking until it rains, so if you are in Texas no worries.

Silver can go the longest between baths for sure, and still looks sharp, the black wheels look great with the silver and also hide the brake dust well!

Thanks for the replies!!!

My wife is leaning towards Cosmic blue with either matching roof or in black... I am leaning towards oxford green with a black or white roof.

Choices choices. Regardless - thanks for the opinions.

We went with Cosmic Blue, which is a very dark blue, so it does show dirt easily like black does. We also went with the black roof which actually help the blue to stand out. Added chrome everywhere we could and we think it looks fabulous!! Gotta clean it often, but we don't mind. That's our two cents... Good luck with your decisions.

Final decision...

To go with Oxford Green + White roof... I still wanted the anthracite wheels, so we are going to add chrome line exterior and chrome mirror caps to break up all of that dark. Thanks for all of the help!!!

Anyone with a white/black?? They were going to have a LW&B gathering, but it required a parking lot the size of New Jersey.

Oh hey - as far as keeping clean and showing dirt, the stock silver wheels are a bear. I've washed and waxed mine three times since the beginning of July. Each time, the wheels have been horrible. It's 95% brake dust, since the front wheels are always way worse than the rear, and it comes off pretty easy, but the brake dust shows again within a few days. I'm looking into wheel wax/treatment solutions, but I'm skeptical as to what will help.

So you're dead-on with your anthracite wheels, no matter what body color you end up with, since that's the color of the brake dust. Mine look anthracite after about two weeks of driving. Here's mine during the first wash, a month and a half after I bought the car:

Thanks! I washed again yesterday, so the wash entry was on my mind as I scrubbed my wheels yet again.

They look SOOOOOO good clean! And SOOOOO mediocre after two weeks of brake dust.
