Detailing accessories for the CM.

Hi! My CM is looking a bit "dusty" and I would like to hear what kinds of products people are using to keep their CMs looking sparkly and immaculate I've been looking at the Prima Hydro selection, but would prefer products that I can buy in-store. I am also a college student so I will be unable to wash my car frequently (and can't spend too much on detailing stuff :-P), making some form of paint protection a must! In addition, I do not have a rotary device for applying wax which is why I am uber-interested in the Prima Hydro collection.

its going to be important to get a good wash/clay bar/wax upfront, then its just maintenance.

Use this for soap:

for the wheels, keeps the brake dust off.

My view is you get what you pay for. Therefore, anything from Adam's ( http://www.adamspolishes.com/ ) is the only way to go. Visit their forum (http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/cmps_index.php) for a complete one-stop place for any and all information related to keeping your car looking its best.

Use a synthetic wax to start with, it lasts for months as a base so you'll only have to put in a lot of time on it once - after that the washing is much easier.

I have not used the Prima wax itself yet, but I have used almost every other Prima product and been very happy with it. If you are coming to Colorado for MINIs in the Mountains, the Prima guys are usually there and happy to give you cleaning tips or product demos.

Klasse protects for a long time but its a PITA to remove. Also, you dont need to buy super expensive products to get an awesome looking car. Do some research... autopia.org has a decent review section and there is TONS of info on different products.

Never been on Adamsforums but im guessing they will praise their products over others, which is understandable.

Thanks everyone for your inputs! Sorry I haven't replied in a good while >_> I also agree that one does not need overly expensive products to achieve a successful detailing session. Though...I was able to spot the Prima Hydro package at an online store for a good price so I might just go with those items. ^____^ Now all I need to do is find a good clay bar to ensure that my wash day produces a car ready to face the elements on campus!
