Tracking Question

We are, also, expectant parents......of a new 2012 CM in Lt. Coffee. I've been following the Owners Lounge tracking where it sat on "on order" for a couple of weeks. Today it moved to "scheduled for production" and we got a vin. number.
My question is: what time frames do each segment take. schedule, transport, etc. It actually seems like it's moving faster than we expected.

It'll be in production for about a week, and then 'awaiting transport' for 1or 2 weeks (mine was sitting on the dock for almost 2 weeks!) and then 'in transit' for 8-12 days depending on where your port is.
I'm still 'in transit' and my Godfrey is in the middle of the Atlantic right now, due in Halifax on the 27th (Wednesday) and then it will go on to NY (actually Jersey City, NJ), which is my port.
I ordered my 2011 MINI on May 23, 2011, just as a point of reference. I understood that the 2012 were going to start production in August, but, I could be wrong.
Good luck with your car!!

Tracking

Thanks, we really don't mind the wait, but ordering a Mini requires a ton of patience! I'm not sure if that's by design, but it sure makes for fewer Minis' on the street. Your wait is now almost over, and I'm sure it was worth it! I like the way Mini tries to give us a way to see the process through. I wish you could actually watch your car get built, I'd pay extra for that!

There are a couple of threads about tracking it once it is on the boat. You can actually see it move wile in the North Sea and then when it gets to North America. Now if they only had cameras at the dock so we could watch them unload.
I will be finally picking mine up on this Thursday. Ordered it at the end of May.

How did you know what the production start date and end dates were? I only see scheduled for production, then en route as the next step.

If you call 866-ASK-MINI it will tell you when your production start and estimated completion dates are.

I visited the owners lounge daily to check the status. Once I knew it was on the boat went to their site and found the ship then watched it cross over.

I called today and mine has an ECD of 18 Aug! I'm guessing I got swapped in for one of my dealership's earliest slots.

All you want to know about tracking and more is in this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d-updated.html

I found today that I have a VIN and am in production. I called the MINI phone number and was told that production is started, she doesn't know the actual start date but that the completion date was estimated 8/17.

Wheee!

I just called and my estimated completion date is 8/17 as well. Guess we will be rolling down the line together!

I read what was posted about the Mini Phone number, called it, and was pleasantly surprised by the fact that their voice recognition really works well, and also by the fact that I now know that "Coco" will be born on Aug. 19th. I'm learning that Mini does a great job supporting their customers with this kind of help, knowing that we're all very **** about our cars!

Mini waiting

Hi all....after placing a deposit the end of April for an All4, I finally received a slot for a 2012 in July. I was told my car was in production about a week ago.... and my MA called me today to tell me that the production is done and now waiting for transport.
I called te 800# - just told me in production.
In July when I received my slot - I was told most likely September delivery. My MA today told me 3 weeks. I am not complaining...but why so much faster than September?

Maybe a spot of good luck?

Perhaps you got put into a slot that was pre-allocated to your dealer for the 2012's, or maybe they already had one on order that they just modified to your specifications.

It also depends on where it's going. We ordered our countryman on May 14th...and it's still "en route". Takes a little longer to get to Cali.

Talking Me too!! Me too!! Me too!! Me too!!

YEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!

Left a deposit on memorial day and just got my production schedule details from my MA today!!!! Got a VIN earlier this week and according to the production schedule, my CM's existence started on 7/27/11 at 9:21:36 AM in some undefined time zone!!!

Currently sitting in a state of 150 'Production started' status with an 8/19 estimated production date.

According to the dateless schedule, the next states for our CMs are:

151 - Entry body shop/serial # assign.
152 - Entry paint shop
153 - Entry assembly
154 - Assembly
155 - Assembly finish/quality check

I'll be bugging my MA to get a play by play daily, then I guess after state 155, it goes to awaiting transport where you can track via info at the previous post. I'm assuming that the states will update with state complete dates! Is the factory a 24/7 operation or run only on business days?

This is definitely moving a lot faster than I was led to believe since I ordered the automatic given the tragedy in Japan - I wasn't planning on getting it until October! 2012 automatics are 'Oscar Mike'!!!

Gotta see what options are out there regarding financing and hoping the gov't figures out this default thing before the deadline, otherwise rates will jump quickly...

Does this mean that I should update my sig block with deets and her name?!?!? Held off so far since I didn't want to get too anxious...

mrluckpa, our build sheet is: LC body & roof, Polar Beige leather, Prem. Pkg. Sport Pkg w/18" Bright Silver Turbo Fan wheels, Automatic, Zenon Light, Heated mirrors & jets, Chrome Line Ext. Arm Rest, Flat Floor, 2-pc rail, Color Line Polar Beige, HK Radio, Bluetook/USB adapter. That's $33,150, after $500 off by dealer. We're in SW Florida and bought from Ft. Myers Mini, a relatively new dealership and good to work with. This is our first Mini, and I would love to get a second one: the new JCW Coupe. Dreamin!

mrluckypa, our CMS will live in SWFl, and we ordered LC top to match, Prem & Sport pkgs, auto, Polar leather & color line, Turbo Silver 18" wheels, Chrome Line Ext., armrest, flat floor, 2pc rail, HK radio, and Bluetooth. Could never find that combo in Fl, or in Lt. Coffee for that matter!

Napolean,
Great choice I would have ordered the same color combos had I been in SWFL
Waiting is always the hardest part. Started looking in April and finally pulled the trigger on July 20th. Order went in on the 22nd. LC is so hard to find. I've seen them but not with the right color combos or accessorized the way I want.

My MA told me that my MINI went into production on July 21 at 7:33 AM. I have a completion date of August 19...Almost a month? I thought MINI's took an average of 8 days to produce?
