Godfrey Is Finally Ordered!!

As of today Monday, May 23rd, 2011...Godfrey has been ordered! He is a MINI Cooper S Countryman All4...Black on black, chrome everywhere, inside and out, Xenon headlamps,Carbon black lounge leather seats, piano black touches, anthracite headliner, every other up grade possible except for sunroof which I had decided against... Thank you to everyone who helped with this decision. He will be an automatic, but since I don't drive a stick, I thought that would be a practical decision. I asked for the split rail which some of you helped me decide as well. I'm also planning to install ('planning to install' = someone else will be doing it) the extra set of driving lights which will amount to 4 lights across the grill (eventually). Not crazy about the black grill, but the 'S' model doesn't come with the chrome grill, which I would have preferred. All in all...happy with all the decisions, but, I have a headache from all this.

One GIANT worry I had was that I wouldn't be able to get my vehicle at all...until the fall...because a commenter (from N Jersey) informed me (S Jersey)that he had gotten the ' very last automatic transmission available' until the Fall...because of everything that is going on in Japan. NOT TRUE! (But, that doesn't give me back last night's sleep...I worried about this insanely) It all depends on the dealer's allotment. In fact, my dealer laughed when I told him that. He said it sounded like the guy had an over zealous dealer who wanted him to just order the car already! So, if someone tells you it is too late to order your car, it is not true.
One more thing...we also got $1400 off the final price. There is not a lot of haggling to do...but I think we did pretty well.

Sounds great! Almost exactly like the one I ordered......at the end of Feb. We wait a lot longer here in Australia to get our orders - I think I only have about 7/8 weeks to go before delivery. My order is a manual transmission - about the only difference between our cars. Let's see which car arrives first!!

Sounds like a great car, and how can it not be--it's so similar to mine...and also in south jersey. Post some pics when you get it--see you on the road!

Way to go Jerseygirl. Congrats. Now comes the hardest part......waiting. The next 8 weeks are gonna kill you. But the anticipation is worth it. You're gonna LOVE your All4.

Thanks! I'm probably in your mother's generation! LOL...My son talked me into going for the 'S'. I probably wouldn't have even test driven it...but, once you do, the extra power is very obvious!

I'm glad you like the name!

mrluckypa...Thank you! Can't wait for it to get here so I can start playing with it.
The 'Hot Chocolate' is a gorgeous, rich color. I saw it on a clubman (I think)....I love that color! Good luck with your ordering process! We had such a great salesman...Shawn Fiordimondo from MINI of Mt Laurel NJ...he was awesome. If you are buying in South Jersey...ask for him, he was great and very careful about ordering it EXACTLY the way I wanted it. He even told me the list of things I'd be better off without. Best of luck to you!

Wow, though, you're still waiting for an order placed in February?!!! After 3 months I'd be half crazed!
I really hope your's comes first. You've been waiting so long already. Good luck!

docfink....OMG...I'm sorry...I didn't knowingly copy you! I guess great minds just think alike, huh?
You're even in South Jersey? What are the odds?
Well, it should be easy to spot each other though!
I'll probably see you on the road....in a few months.

Kalamazoo...Thank you! I'm very, very excited! I'm patient....all good things come in time. The wait is going to be difficult, but I can do it (I think) .
I like to anticipate things almost as much as actually getting them, so I should be good!

.mrluckypa..
No, don't be jealous! Anticipation is part of the fun. I researched this car for a year before I ordered..(it was driving my family nuts)....I just joined this forum recently, when I finally decided this was the perfect car for me.
Now, the wait begins for I don't know how long (The dealer will call tomorrow about a possible due date!)
So, good luck! You will order when it's the right time for you to order! Hang in there!

Congrats on the Countryman order! Now you will just have to hang around in this forum to learn all about your new Countryman so you will be an expert by the time it arrives!

Congrats and welcome. Be sure to follow your build and transport. And, yes, bug to h out of your MA for information. He should have more up-to-date information than the website.

Miniblue2...Thank you! I can't wait to start following the build and transport! He's calling tomorrow with more info. So I should just call the dealer for up to the minute tracking? I wonder how often I can call him?

I'd say at least daily, but think of a different question for each call to provide some entertainment.
That's what I did.

Glad you had a good experience with MINI of Mt. Laurel.

When i bought my MINI in '09 the Mt. Laurel dealership didn't exist so i went to Princeton MINI which is about an hour north of me.

I've been happy with Princeton MINI but may switch to Mt. Laurel because they are 1/2 the distance away.

Did you also get connected or nav? Did they give you an order number or production number? Just wondering if I should go order now if there's not really any parts delays! Btw, congrats!!! Hope you get it soon!
