Auto door lock when driving

I set up my Countryman to auto lock the doors when I start driving. Issue I am having is that it does auto lock, but when I turn the car off it isn't auto unlocking the doors. Any way to get it to do this while still locking doors when you start driving? Having to pull the handle twice is kind of a pain.

Buy the dongle and you can probably program it to unlock.

But really, you'll get used to pulling the door handle twice. Just give yourself a little more time.

It won't unlock until you remove the key. Having to pull the handle twice when the key is in the ignition is standard BMW behavior.

Start driving and doors lock. Put it in park and remove the key. Doors still do not auto unlock. Am still having to pull handle twice.

Ok then, since you are in the R60 venue you still have a few days before the warranty expires. You have a warranty issue there. Your car is not behaving nicely in the BMW manner.

MA stated they have looked into this before and the Countryman does not have an auto unlock when car is turned off and key is removed.

Oh dear. That raises questions, like why would the company deviate from a standard application at this time, doesn't it?

Would definitely think it would be logical to have an auto unlock when you have auto lock. We wouldn't want to make it easy for someone to get out of the car quickly if needed :-)

Logic always is missing where it is most expected . Guess that's why they lump it under fuzzy logic .

much easier to flip the center switch unlock up every time. Get in the habit, it makes life simple.

Has anyone noticed that several of the switches are non-directional? You say flip up - but you can up or down flip. It will lock or unlock in either direction.

Maybe I should put this in the things you didn't know post.

Make sure you identify the 'things you didn't know' comment as an R60 issue only. I've gotta quit looking at R60 threads. Motor on.
