Countryman 6-speed Manual with Mini Connected/Navigation

I am trying to order a Countryman with 6-speed Manual and Mini Connected/Navigation. My MA gets an error on the build which can only be removed if either the transmission is changed to an Automatic or if Navigation is removed. Of course Countryman have been built and delivered with this combination.

Has anybody else had this problem on recent build?

its the connect, its not available for ordering right now, as the parts are coming from japan. Auto transmissions are the same. Shame on your MA for not reading his emails.

Thanks for the quick reply. What did the email say? Is there an estimate when his combination can be ordered again?

Also which part of this combination comes from Japan? I thought the Manual Transmission was made in Europe?

Thanks,

My MA showed it to me, just basically said that both Connect and Connect w/ NAV are no longer available to order for July slots, now we're getting into August slots so things might change in June, maybe. But 2012 orders will be right around the corner.

the manual part is fine, its just the Connect, and the Auto tranny that is a problem

Our auto tranny was built in Belgium? Would it use japanese parts though or are they fully assembled in japan?

I'm in the same boat as you and having the same experience trying to order a Countryman S All4 Manual with Connected/Navi. I've been in contact with nearly all the dealers in California trying to get this order. The story is fairly consistent with each. There are Japan supply issues with Connected, and zero July allotments, which mean that config cannot order in the near future, especially if they already sold their June allotments. You might run across an uninformed MA who think they can order it, but will find out shortly that it's not available when they try.

I just ordered my Countryman 6-speed manual with Mini Connected/Nav a week or so ago, and it was fine. Either I just made the cut-off or maybe try other dealerships. Everyone seems to be getting different stories.

Did you get an order number or confirmation of some sort? Or is the dealer holding onto it to submit at a future date when the system allows it?

Curious since I'd like to order too, but also want an automatic.

I ordered mine Auto with Nav/Connected first week in May. Have a production number but Mini site still shows it "on order".

This is all getting crazy. Everyone is experiencing something different.

Rktcyntst, I got a production number. AND I just logged into the MINI Owner's Lounge to check the status. It has a VIN number and says it's out of production and awaiting transport. I guess they built it in 7 days? And when I click on "Review Your Order" it still lists all the options, so I guess I made it through production with the Connected/Nav.

Lightyr, I wonder what's up with your order. I ordered mine after you. I'm curious how MINI determines production order for each of the cars.

Keep us posted on how it goes. I'm rooting for you both!

Nice!!! Geez that's so exciting and I'm so insanely jealous!!! Now you get to wait for it to jump over the pond! Make sure to post a pic when it gets here!!!

@lightyr - your situation is what I'm expecting to happen to me as well. I've resisted ordering since I'd go nuts with the inconsistent status on what's really happening. Hopefully yours will get on a boat like misska's did in a few days! I'll keep my fingers cross and let me know if your situation changes...

I'm starting to wonder if MINI actually has some of these 'short supply/delayed' items on hand and is rationing them to high volume or preferred dealerships? Just thinking out loud since it doesn't make sense to me that some folks are getting through, others are not and timing seems to be all over the map in the cases I've read about. Hmmmmmm

Oh the drama of it all...

Congratz misska, that is very cool your CM was ready so quickly!

I think there are a still a number of us in the limbo "on order" stage. I fear that my choice of an Auto is holding up the process. I did some checking though, and according to Aisin there are no part shortages. Their facilities were back up and running a few days after the quake, and even though some of their suppliers were delayed, they were not.

That said, I am still just tapping my fingers...

No more 2011 Nav Orders

OK confirmed after talking with a few different dealers today - no more Nav/Connected on a 2011 order - my order was bounced 2 days ago (with Nav) for an existing open allocation that the dealer had. So at this point - looking at a 2012 order.

So when can 2012 cars be ordered? Does anybody know the transition date? For BMW it used to be anywhere between July and September, so we should be close?

No mini connect and auto tranny for Allman

I have been waiting for an order slot for 3 weeks. in that time my MA has said the same...delayed and not sure when available. I called the customer service today at Mini... From the number off the website. They were about as helpful as a box of rocks. They told me they cannot help... Only can help me with issues after I receive the vehicle. I told them i am just looking for an estimated time frame for delivery, they said they did not know. Told me the dealers are the ones to receive the most up to date information. He suggested speaking with the sales manager. It is this lack of info that makes me want to walk......

I ordered my car on 5/23 and I'm having the same problem right now! My MA said it is because there are problems getting the parts for the Nav. He said he'd be able to order it without Nav if I wanted him to, but I decided to wait until I can get it with the Navigation. He said he'll keep trying to enter the order in the system but it keeps spitting it because of the Nav. I ordered the auto trans too, but he didn't say there was a problem with that.
