R60 Custom Euro Magnets
Custom Euro Magnets
I had Euro-style oval stickers on my last car, and I really liked them, but they were a real pain to remove, and one that was on there for several years left a slightly darker spot because it had protected that area from the sun.
For this car, I really wanted to customize with Euro decals, but I didn't want to risk the finish. I was able to find a site that let me design my own! So without further ado, here's what the back of my car looks like now. I plan to move them regularly so they don't bond with the finish at all (though the site I bought them from said they were designed for automotive use and wouldn't cause problems). Plus, I can take them off to wash and wax the car.

The pictures remind me that I need to get my own license plate holders.

Thanks!
Yup, they're magnetic, and they're supposedly designed for automotive use (fade and peel resistant, etc.).
I didn't link in the original post because wasn't sure if linking to the site would violate NAM's terms of use or etiquette, since I didn't want to appear to be hocking them.
They're from Sticky Life, and you can design all kinds of custom car magnets, decals, and other swag. It's OK to say that, right?

FYI to anybody thinking about using these magnets. I really enjoyed mine for about a year, but either the rubber aged too much or some water got trapped, and one my three stickers (MIDD) bonded to the paint. It was only a couple of weeks since the last time they were removed for a wash, so I'm not sure exactly what happened. The magnet that started to bond was one that had warped slightly, so I think some water was able to get trapped.
When I went to remove it, the rubbery/magnetized part of it cracked, and a big patch of it stuck to the car instead of coming away with the vinyl sticker part of the magnet. Fortunately, I was able to remove the stuck-on part bit by bit with my fingernail and some rubbing alcohol, but it was a bit scary, and I think if I had left it much longer, it would have bonded more strongly and damaged the paint. Just an FYI for anybody thinking of using magnets like I did. You'd need to remove and clean very frequently in order to avoid this, and it might happen no matter what you did as the magnet aged.
