Comment on Anthracite vs. Stock interior

Looking for feedback. Have on order a Countryman All4 - Crystal Silver, black roof with black leather interior - not too late to change order.
I thought I did not want the Anthracite headliner option($250.00). Thought it might lighten up the interior with the stock tan. Now I am wondering if I should go with the Anthracite. Do not see any great pictures of the stock interior. Anyone have any comments on the interior colors they have. Thanks.

I don't like spending money for a different color of the same item (what, $250 for grey dye instead of brown?) but I couldn't make do without it.

I simply don't like tan any more than I like gold, preferring anthracite, silver, and grey. I saw them both at the dealership, and there was no question in my mind.

Ultimately, it's up to your personal preferences, as it is, after all, a half-dozen tanks of gas worth of color change, but personally, I would, and did.

Cheers,
Tad

Its definitely a personal choice. I however would not get a car without it. In my opinion it just looks sportier. I sold a mini cooper s that had the gray and when I saw another car on the lot that I wanted and it had anthracite I said I'd take it. Countryman S on the lot had it, so I bought it. That and Xenons were 2 things that were must have's....everything else I could be convinced to accept with a lower price

The anthracite headliner is really dark, not a really light grey. We have it and like it slot.

Have it love it. My biggest regret on my R56 was not getting the anthracite headliner, so made sure I got it this time.

My R53 has a white/light grey headliner & I must admit, I never really gave it a second thought. However, after seeing the Anthracite interior, I ordered it with my R60 & with the sunroof installed, I think the ambient light coming in will offset an all carbon cabin.
$250 for the option, IMHO, is not too bad considering all of the hardware that is changed(handles, visors & all upper plastics & coverings). Compare that to some of the other options that cost the same, such as the armrest, the iPhone cradle or the chrome interior trim, what you get with the Anthracite headliner seems more justifiable to me.
It is purely a matter of taste, either way looks great! (With a black roof, you can't go wrong with the Anthracite.)

I debated about the same thing. I couldn't decide... Finally, my wife asked me a hypothetical question... "If the polar beige was the $250 upgrade and anthracite was was stock, which one would you want then?" Personally, I feel I was intrigued by the anthracite because it cost more... I ordered the polar beige because ultimately I prefer the two-tone interior.

Both look great and you can't go wrong either way in my opinion...

I'll try to take some pics today. I just picked up mine on Thursday. I definitely prefer the anthracite.

you have GOT to get anthracite. once you go to it, you'll never want another car with barf color roof ever again.

I got the pure red/carbon black interior with the anthracite in my R60. In fact, there was a MINI on the lot with the pure red interior and the standard tan headliner and it looks HORRIBLE. I think if you were to order the Pure red/black, the configurator should make you get the anthracite headliner. The tan one with that interior looks just plain awful.

I hope these help. The morning light didn't help with some angles. All of these pics show at least some of the headliner surfaces. I agree with Kalamazoo_All4. Definitely anthracite with the Pure Red.

Yea thats the problem, I think unless your getting some combination of polar beige, light coffee, or dark tobacco the standard tan doesn't really go because its in the brown family. To me its even more a necessity than in the R56 which standard was the light gray, and at least matched black. If your doing black or red (surf blue can go either way depending on the seats), you need to go anthracite.

BTW for those who have not seen it in person the anthracite headliner is really more black than anthracite, well at least to me.

Changed my order

Thanks to all for the great comments...very helpful. My crystal silver R60 with black roof and all black interior will have the anthracite interior. Called the dealer and I am all set.
I appreciate the pictures discordiannot! I generally like a lighter color on a ceiling...hey thats why we have white ceilings in most homes.....but with the black interior I like the anthracite.

Unfortunately, I ordered a CM with Cosmic Blue/black roof/black bonnet stripes/Black Leatherette/Color line/black wheels, but did not realize the headliner wouldn't be matched to the seats, which would be logical. I tried to change the order about 3 days later but it was too late...I hope it doesn't clash too much when I get the car.

When I was at the dealer I had to wait for a while so I sat in a new CM, black interior, tan liner.
I had ordered the anthracite liner and like the dark.
But honestly I was playing around with all the buttons till it occurred to me the car had the tan liner. I would tell you it looks nicer than in the pictures - not as tan. I think the dark seats make the tan more muted. You will like what you ordered!

i think it looks more cream colored and on the white side of that, never thought of it as tan, it compliments the white piping on the lounge seats, i like it !

My personal opinion, if you're going to spend $30k on your car and your ordering it, minus well get it exactly how you want it especially if its for $250. Think about it, if you're financing and and your monthly payment it $500, would you pay up another half a payment to get the car exactly how you want it? I ordered my car exactly how i wanted it and it includes the anthracite headliner.

I would say you are correct...I think I said 'Tan" because I did know what color to call it! I agree it matches the piping on the lounge leather!
