R60 Interior: Leather vs Leather/Cloth Parallel lines
Interior: Leather vs Leather/Cloth Parallel lines
Hello all,
I am brand new to this forum, and do not have a Countryman (yet)
I am waiting until they come out with the bench seat, hopefully next year! My question has to do with the interior. I have gone to look at several countrymen, and the first time I went, I really liked the cloth and leather seats with the light tobacco parallel lines. My current vehicle has black leather interior, and that would be my other choice. I love the look of the beige leather, but would prob not be very practical for me!
I was wondering if anyone has the cloth and what your impressions are, and if you have any pictures, that would be great. I haven't seen one with the cloth since my first test drive, so I am doubting myself! Thank you in advance, I think this forum is great, and have gotten a TON of useful information from it!

I have cloth/leather in my Clubbie -- it's similar to the cloth/leather in the Countryman. I really like it. The cloth is much cooler in summer and not cold like leather in winter. I have found it to be easy to keep clean, but then again I don't have any young'uns or pets that I routinely carry in the car.
Husband and I are awaiting his Countryman and it has the light tobacco cloth/leather seats. Once we get it (hopefully on Friday!), I'll post pictures. In the meantime, here's a picture I found in NAM awhile back.

I have always been partiel to leather. I think it holds up better and is easier to clean. I was all set on ordering the black leather and then saw the cloth leather combo in a car on the showroom floor and changed my mind. I think you get the best of both. We'll see. My Countryman is on the boat and should take delivery by the end of May.
Husband chose Pure White/Black top. It was a tough decision. He really liked several of the colors, but has always been fond of the white/black combo when it comes to MINIs.
How funny, those are the colors I'm thinking of...Can't wait to see pics! Thanks danglow1, I kinda felt the same way when I saw the cloth, it just looks a little more interesting than all black!

I've generally preferred all-leather too, but those premiums were just too much for me to justify to myself.
Besides, cloth holds your butt securely in the seat better when taking turns. Unless you're wearing shorts, but then you get all sweaty.

I used to have leatherette but got rid of them, they were so uncomfortable and they did not hold me in the seat. they also started to crack, and the up and down hand lever, the gear broke in 5 pieces so i swap them out to STI suede seats
