GPS Mounting help...

I'm looking for a GPS mounting solution for my Countryman. I would like a hard-wired/clean look that allows removal of the unit.

I've searched and haven't found exactly what I'm looking for...

Is there a cradle/mount solution that does not show any wire(s) when the GPS unit is removed?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

PS I have not purchased the GPS unit yet, so I am willing to consider any model...

I didn't attempt a hard-wire solution but this works for me: http://www.flickr.com/photos/1884327...7626019236648/

The sat-nav is an old Tom Tom 540 Live on its standard windscreen mount and a small (Garmin) adhesive disk fixed permanently to the dash. It has adequate battery life for short journeys but I do have to put up with a loose wire from the mount to the lighter socket on long ones.

Not perfect but life's always a compromise!

So I see you're in the UK with the rear bench seat option. How do you like it? Apparently it will be available in the states in 2012. Is it true that they can't slide back and forth like the rear bucket seats?

This is definitely what I'm going to get soon.

Garmin nüvi® 1490LMT

Portable hand held 5" touch screen and comes with a vehicle suction cup mount

Vehicle Power Cable for another $24.99

Abe's of Maine has it for $239 and Re-Manufactured ones for under $180.

~Cheers

The 40/20/40 split bench is much more useful IMHO, and I prefer the look.

It DOES slide, but not by much, and I dunno how it compares with the buckets.

Djorde. I'm going for the same look as you. I've looked at the Kuda mounts but also hoping for a good aftermarket rail mount to come along.

My CMs arrived into the port of Newark 2 days ago and scheduling pick up this week.
