If they do make it official I'm waiting for that!!! My idea WAS to build one on my own but OEM is so much better!

I hate the countryman, but I'd seriously be into this if it came out!

I hate it in its current form There's details I don't like, but the WRC version, at least in the actual WRC car, corrects some of my dislikes. I also don't like the e-brake handle and a few other things. Assuming this at least looks like a more purpose built vehicle with a weight loss, I could see myself liking it.

If they do build it...I bet it will be tricked out, fast and awesome.

The problem might be once they make it for the general public it wont look this cool.
They should make body kits that fits the CM

Agreed, I fear it would have a non functional or standard jcw body kit, cheap light pod and other non-functional parts.

I got to see the WRC live at the Paris autoshow, and its a stunner, to make a street version would be a dream come true.

New 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo from BMW:
http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2...der-to-us.html

Could this engine power a limited-edition Countryman WRC or next gen JCW models?

No, in fact MINI will be reducing its number of cylinders to 3 while maintaining the same horsepower as the current 1.6l.

Yes, but not in a WRC Countryman or the JCW.

Don't say never. MINI may surprise us after the 3 cyl have been in the hatches, verts, and the twins.

I don't care who makes it as long as it gets the cool red dash/door rings. I REALLY like those in the JCWs.

If it has better than 250bhp? Better looking than the normal CM? I may have to buy this instead of a Paceman or Evoque

It really don't look any different than what you can build yourself except for the hood cutouts and spoiler. The flares don't seem to be any wider, the wheels are OTS, just lower a white on red Cm and change the wheels and you're most of the way there.

Now if only they'd offer THAT red instead of "Pure" Red which is about as red as I am purple.
