Cosmic Blue, congratulations!!!

I am so excited for you, and I am also glad that you let us know that your CM made it through the VDC already. I am going to assume that since your is through that mine is too. Now it just needs to travel to Cincinnati. I am going to continue my positive thoughts that it will get here today or early tomorrow for a Saturday pickup.

I was going to be all "that shows real dedication", but I know if I still lived in SoCal, I would totally have been there - and with a longer lens to capture my baby coming off that ship!!

I'm kicking around going over there to watch when mine comes in.

It's about a 2 hour drive for me (assuming minimal traffic).

There should only be 1 Light White w/Black Top CMS coming off the ship, right?

Can anyone whose car was on the Don Juan tell me if they've received any official word on when it's going to be ready for pickup at the dealership now that it docked in Port Hueneme yesterday? My MA (South Bay Mini in Torrance CA) can't seem to get an idea where my car is or if it's even been unloaded off the boat yet. This is aggravating. Torrance doesn't seem to be that far from Port Hueneme so this shouldn't take long, right?

If the Don Juan has left again, your car is down. It often spends a few days at the VDC in final Quality Control checks, though -- some options can even get installed there. Give it a few days.

Talia is almost at the tip of Florida. Do we think it'll hit the Canal by the end of the weekend?

Hello all. I'm New to the site. This may be a common Question, but are they doing things quicker? I ordered my Countryman on 02/10/11. It was built on 02/23/11 and released to the carrier on 02/24/11. Any idea on when it will get to port? Arrive on the east coast? Also I need to name her. Light coffee black roof, mirrors. Any ideas?

There can be significant differences on how long it takes to get to the port and how long you wait to get on a ship. Mine took probably 4 days to get to port and then sat for almost two weeks before it got on a ship. But I think my time line is on the longer end. I have seen others with much faster time between production finish and on a ship. Time for you to start checking shipping schedules to guess what boat you might be on!

OL is finally officially showing my Countryman at the VDC meanwhile Robo-mini has reverted my status back to "at the port awaiting a shipping vessel". Odd error, It's good to see OL winning for once.

Talking Picking Up Today

I just got a call from my MA and he said that my CM is in!!!

He said it was either in yesterday (Thursday is his day off) or early this morning when it was delivered, and it was there when he got in. He said they are working on the car now and it is about ready to go. The biggest thing they have to do is get the code for the Mini Connect, but it should be done in a few hours. I will be heading out there after work to pick it up. I will post pictures when I have them.

Just a few more hours.

Tim

so, how much faith do I put in Owner's Lounge?

OL now shows that Chase is at the VDC.

when I click on "review order details", it gives me an ETA of 2/27/11

it does say "This date is only an estimate. Contact your dealer for specifics"

I'm excited!

He should be notified when it hits the VDC, when it's assigned to a carrier, and when it leaves the gate of the VDC. Ask him if he's received any of those notifications.

I'm excited!
I'm in the Bay Area, ever so slightly closer to the VDC than Sonoma, and my estimate is 3/1/11. I'm still anticipating a worst case date of more like the 7th.

this sounds just like the car getting on the boat.

a little more waiting won't kill me.

Need a little sympathy

So, picked up my CM yesterday. After all the anticipation and excitement of getting it and driving it around yesterday, I got a nail in the tire this morning (living in a new community with construction). Needless to say I am quite upset and annoyed.

The runflats allowed me to run some errands today, but no one carries them (not even Mini) and the earliest they will get one in is Tuesday.

They did offer to put my in a loaner. While that is great and all, it is going to be 2-3 days of not being able to drive my new car.

Guess this isn't the worst that can happen.

Great news! Hopefully this means they are pumping out trucks full of Countryman from Don Juan to the rest of the west coast.

-----

OL has indeed changed my estimated delivery date from 3/1 to 2/27 (Tomorrow).

looks like the pictures thread should soon have a whole bunch of new Countrymans to stare at!

(still no word from my dealer on Chase, though. OL still says delivery is today)

Well, according to my MA, Heathcliff is supposed to be at the port in GA on 3/12. So I figure I've got a good two weeks of waiting in store.

Talia's hit the Panama canal (okay, not literally) - looks like we're still tracking. Drove a Countryman for the first time yesterday -- much nicer feel than the Cooper S. A little slower start, but quieter, and a more solid feel. I think I'll be happy, assuming the car ever gets here!...
