That's right, I almost forgot! However, we travelled across the pond on the Talia together with our Countryman friends. I am sure there was a lot of partying happening on that ship!

Plus wanted to warn any MINI of San Diego customers of the disappointing things happening down there so they can be prepared.

I HOPE you both post pics here...I've enjoyed your posts. Ual, I saw a similar Cooper to yours at the dealer...looked FAB with black roof, stripes, and black wheels. Look forward to seeing your actual car

Thanks for letting us hang around here. Do you plan on watching your ship, Don Quijote (9V8797), go trough the Panama Canal? It is not at the east coast of Panama yet, so I am guessing it is a day late. The ship usually spends a night near Colon moored. It then goes through the Panama Canal the next day.

Panama Canal webcam
http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html

You will see it at the Gatun Locks first, then the Centennial Bridge, and then the Mira Flores Locks

I've been watching it as well, and I expect it to arrive tonight (in the next 3 hours). I'm hoping it doesn't drop anchor, but we'll see.

I'll be up late watching it!

Got word from my MA in Vegas. Apparently Darcy will not be delivered until the 18th. I have no idea what is going on - first he said no later than Tuesday and now it's the 18th.

But there was a large shipment of MINIs and other vehicles so I'm thinking it's going to take a few days for them to process it.

On the upside, my MA is going to make a few calls and see if we can't hurry up the process

Congrats to all who have gotten theirs. They look pretty - definitely getting antsy for mine.

No, you're good. It's about to show up on the marintraffic.com website. It's still just outside of range, but should be in range and on the map within the hour.

I may not make it as I have to get up early to go wait in line (again!) for the iPad 2 at my local Apple Store...

NICE! I'll see how long I last. What other site are you using to see it moving along? We're scheduled for March 14 so right on track, correct?

EXCELLENT on the ipad2 dedication. I would think Monday morning would be the perfect line to get into (versus the weekend).

This website updates every 6 hours, which is good because it's the only site to update when the ship is otherwise "out of range".:

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...ml?call=9V8797

However, it hasn't updated since 5:00 PM, so it's due for an update.

This site gives almost up do the minute position updates, but the ship must be "in range". I think it will be in range very shortly:

http://aprs.fi/?call=i%2F564753000&m...merange=604800

I think once it shows up on the marintraffic.com map, it will be "in range", and will show up on all the tracking sites.

Then the first webcam will be the Gaton Locks here:

http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/ca...m=MirafloresHi

The Centennial Bridge and Miraflores Locks on the same website.

Have I left anything out?

I almost forgot that I registered at:

http://www.vesseltracker.com/app

And I get an email update whenever the ship comes into range, changes it's ETA, docks, etc.

And, yes, the 14th is correct. The ETA was just updated to 0700 UTC, but it is now 0732, so the ETA isn't super-accurate....

Yes they do. There is one heading through the Gatun Locks as we speak.

Ok-the CCNI Columbia is going through right now, but it is going through the Gatun Locks and out to sea, so when the Don Quijote comes through, we will see it it as it is leaving the locks and heading inland towards the Moriflores Locks, if that makes any sense.

I think I follow. I saw the CCNI as well tracking on the map view and then back to the webcam.

I'm signing off for now...we'll see where it ends up by the morning. Thanks for all the info. I'm psyched to see it's position in a few hours.

The Don Quijote is dropping off cars in Cristobal. Chances are it will spend the night moored near Colon and then enter the Panama Canal tomorrow.

Ok...that's an acceptable explanation. I never thought they might actually drop off cars there

Any news yet? Do they ship to AZ, CO, and NM by train or truck? I have no news.

Word is truck although a barge up the Rio Grande may have been faster. We are waiting for a whole truckload of BMWs and MINIs to ship

UAL_Kingpin: I'm getting my car shipped to the dealership in Las Vegas. Haven't heard anything from my MA. Last I heard it was going to be in on the 18th. So no idea as of right now.

londonblue: did you order through Desert Mini? They were pretty good on pricing AND it would have made a fun road trip for me. But in the end, I stayed local (for once).

FatBob: We were in ABQ two weeks ago...you have a nice looking Mini dealership. I was STUNNED at how many MINIs I saw in that general area (especially up near Santa Fe). BIG difference from Salt Lake City.

days-like-this: yes I went through Desert Mini. I'm excited to road trip back with Darcy...if he ever shows up. Part of my thinks he's on another ship. I was told he'd be at the dealership tomorrow (Tuesday) and now it's the 18th. Hopefully my MA won't email with a further delay. I'm getting impatient!

MINIs are very popular in Albuquerque, a day hardly go's buy that you don't see several on the street. This is a far cry from when I got my 02 S, there wasn't even a dealer here then and people would chase me down just to look at it. They did build a nice dealership, the people there are nice as well.
