production number
How long are you guys waiting for the number after you placed your order??
Put mine in on Monday and still nothing.
I know some get them the next day.
What is the longest anyone has waited? I'm getting a little impatient now.

I ordered very early before production had begun in earnest, but you should receive a production number as soon as your order has been entered in to the system and been accepted by MINI USA (status 111). This should be immediate most of the time. Check with your MA and ask for an explanation.

Well, I just called my salesman and he said since this is produced at the other plant it is a day to a week before I might see the #. He said the Oxford plant gives the out almost immediately, but not this one????
So I guess I sit and wait, there will be alot that over the next couple months.
I just want to know things are going as they should, especially since I am dealing with MINI of SA, which I am a little leery of already.

As soon as my order was accepted (status 111) a production number was provided.
Now I'm not an MA and there may be other circumstances, but what they are telling you sounds like BS and does not mirror the experiences of others on this forum. Many folks walk in to a dealership, place an order and walk out with a production number. Perhaps the dealer does not have any allocation remaining?

Right. I had one immediately that they gave me, but my dealer used one of their allotted slots.

Glad you got your production number. As I stated, if there is a slot available and the order is accepted then the number is assigned right away. Now you can sign up in the Owner's Lounge. Don't panic when it shows your order incorrectly, takes a day or two to correct. Also, you may as well add 1-866-ASK-MINI to your speed dial list. Congrats and have fun!
Use the automated system as much as you like. Ask for a rep as musch as you like. I don't think I ever got connected to the same rep twice. You won't call as much as you thnk you will as there are some dates you just have to wait for like completion date. You'll want to check frequently to see that the car moves from factory to port and then again from port to vessel.
I'd be curious to know what you ordered. I ordered with them. They screwed up and they could not correct the problem. Texas is out of unique allocations for the year, maybe they sold you one that was exactly what you wanted, but already on order. They suck. Sorry to be bitter. But I'd never recommend them.
Aside from that, I'm very excited for your new countryman! Such an amazing vehicle!!

How's that possible? Are you talking about last Saturday which was Christmas? Something is wrong. What did you order? A Countryman?

I'm in Texas, too....bought my '07 in Dallas because SA was so bad...but had service in Arlington till the Austin dealer opened. Austin has been super for service so far. Sales order took 2 hours, so that was not so great...since I had my specs printed & ready. Saw the demo yesterday....can't wait for mine!!!!

I ordered mine 3 weeks ago, took a day for the Production # to get to me. So I went to the Owners Lounge on the MiniUSA website and made a profile to gain access to track my MINI. But so far it has been "On Order" for 3 weeks now and I am getting antsy like you. I spoke with my salesperson today as well and he told me what I already knew and that once it gets scheduled for production, the actual building process will only take 1-2 days. So hopefully you hear something soon, I totally understand this frustrating process
My dealer only offered an ordering spot with an actual production number. So even though it is a Feb production number, it's locked in. My question is (first time mini orderer/owner here) how many of you saw a bump up from the time your dealer locked in your order as a 'sold' car? I'm hoping to solidify my options this week...thinking that it could slide my car up in production weeks since it would go in as a Priority 1 sold car now.
Is that crazy thinking?
Anybody else experience that quicker production?
