Production time

I have seen production move up when production slot is marked a priority 1 - sold car. Your Motoring Advisor should be providing the week number of the year that your MINI is scheduled for completion in production along with the production number.

It can also go the other way. Your MA should be keeping you posted with status reports along the way.

It sure can! When I received my production number, I was told the car was scheduled for production week 44. That slipped to week 45, then to 46 and ultimately to week 47. Was told the slippage had to do with shortage on the Flat Load Floor option (which MINI ulitmately dropped from my order anyway) and/or some other shortages.

But Liz is correct that your MA should provide you with a production number AND the scheduled production week. If they are good, they will keep you updated. If not so good, you will end up emailing and calling them alot .

Our MA is the worst. She has failed us in every aspect and we made her boss aware of it. The excuse we got was they had no info. I said, "are you kidding me?" Oh sure, after busting their ***** I had received ONE call, which my wife should have received, telling me that the car was completed. I've been doing all of the legwork. To this day we still don't know if the flat load floor was removed from our invoice. They said we won't know until the car arrives at the dealer. The Owner's Lounge doesn't show it anymore. How can they not know???
I will be pressing them for a trade in price that I want for my wife's Audi and for them to throw in some extras at no charge. I won't be ordering my car from this dealer if I'm not satisfied with our experience. There are 2 other dealers I can deal with and one that knows me well.

Sorry about all the issues you had. I share some of your frustrations but I think I may have fared a little better on the communications side.

As for the Flat Load Floor, when this all came up my dealer sent me a copy of the "Vehicle Inquiry: Design/MSRP" report which showed all the options and prices of my car and sure enough the Flat Load Floor was no longer listed and the MSRP reflected it properly.

I agree that MAs should be the most knowledgable and that it is not our job as consumers to be educating them. I know for a fact that there are excellent MAs out there (in fact at least one is a member here and chimes in now and then both publicly and privately to provide valuable info and insight) it just seems that the one we deal with are not as eager to educate themselves in advance of any formally provided programs.
