R60 Some new pictures of the new MINI Crossman
Why Oh Why do manufactures do this. One would think History meant something. Ruin a good thing and geuss what happens......nobody will buy it or much of anything else you have, see the current automotive crisis with American manufactures and there crap.If BMW is as intellegent as one would think, they ought to re-read some of the feedback they get on the likes of these ugly 4 door monsters that they dare to place a MINI badge on. Yechhhh........

Remember, there are those who hate the Gen 1s and Gen2s for not being "true" Minis too ...
silly silly people.
Those rear barn doors look like part of the vinyl wrap.
The paint is simply to hide the fact they are testing it. Why drive it on or near public roads? Simple...with spy photographers from Car & Driver and the likes, the pictures are gonna get leaked anyway. It might be a little ugly, but so was the Moke. Oh, are we forgetting the MINIs heritage.

Second, if we accepted this type of thinking we would not have the R50 and R53 to start with. Not to mention the R56 or Clubman.
I have seen this several times (Porsche, MINI, even 350Z) and the people who like the current or prior model complain about the next model. Face it folks, progress will continue. As they say, if you don't like it don't buy it.
Having said the above, I will not be buying the Crossman because I would rather spend my money on a 370Z.
The rear door is in fact a hatchback. Just look at the picture. The seam of the doors go up and around the spoiler. The handles in the picture would actually look three dimensional if they were real. And the single rear wiper would not make any sense if they were Clubman doors.
Yeah, I too am not a big fan of this. I was expecting the Crossman to be a slightly raised up Clubman with AWD, but instead it looks hideous. It reminds me of the Porsche 911 and the Porsche Cayenne. The 911 is the MINI Cooper and the Cayenne is the Crossman.
I still lay claim to my window decal.."YOUR SUV IS A POS"
For BMW to have expanded the brand to encompass an SUV/Crossover design is beyond my comprehension..even with the camo it's still a big lunky SUV!!!

Kinda reminds me of this "MINI-like" 4 door Nissan that's all over the place in Taipei Taiwan with first gen like chrome bumper inserts.
That looked like a pimped out Hearse...
Yes, to listen to "enthusiasts" like yourself BMW, Mini, VW, Porsche, Harley, Moto Guzzi, Ducati etc should all be out of business because they've attempted to diversify their product/customer base.

The Flex is a box, at least the Mini has the lines we've come to know and love.
Not to mention should be available with a decent powertrain including a 6-speed, and the options that we want, as oppossed to the "gotta have this to get that option package" of most other manufacturers.
I just don't see it from your perspective dude, but that's cool...
I think I'd rather be the driver than the passenger...
Well that's almost always true, just especially true in that case...
