1 mo. old baby in garage!

Hi!

My name is Barb & this is my first time to post on a msg board, although I enjoy reading & learning on various boards. I got my baby after three years of saving & dreaming & procrastinating............ Finally forced to take the plunge when a winter fender bender totalled my Grand Caravan! But it's all good - now I have an 07 MC lightning blue w white stripes, sunroof, automatic, heated seats (which I said I did not want, but LOVE) and got the dealer to swap the 15" wheels for the 16" S-winders from an MCS cause I think they look so sharp! WOW, is that thing fun to drive! When my husband - who was out of town when I took delivery - asked how I liked it I told him it was the first time I ever arrived at work with a big smile on my face! Came to find out later that is a common thread in reviews about the MINI - that they make everyone smile!

We found this website on the final day to register for the Dragon, so we real quick decided - hey, that sounds like a blast - and got our names in for the weekend! Had to get a room about 45 min away in Bryson City, but no problem. Hope to meet a lot of great people there. We also ride a Honda Goldwing & have been wanting to run the Dragon on the bike, but never had the time to get there. Now Wayne (husband) says he will get to run it in the MINI before he tries it on the bike - but I said - "Who says YOU get to drive???"

We have had a lot of fun & socialization over the last 3+ years with the Goldwing clubs & hope now to join the Pittsburgh MINI club & have the same fun with another group of like minded people. Everyone on this forum sounds like they are friendly & willing to share advice & knowledge. I have many more questions & comments but will end as this is probably already too long....

Thanks to all who take their time to contribute to this community - the education I am getting is invaluable!

Barb

YAY! Glad to hear you're smiling about your new baby. Welcome to NAM!

The wife an I are staying in Bryson city as well and the drive to Fontana is really fun and scenic.

Hope to see you there!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. To the "Olde Fahrt" - love that as I'm an "Olde Broad" - thanks for the links re the hitch, trailer combo. Wayne's first question - what does that do to your warranty? The bike is at least 800 lbs so with the trailer weight would be pulling about 1,000 lbs. Wouldn't that stress the tranny?

To shankrabbit - we're staying @ the SleepInn in Bryson City. They said 45 min to Fontana - do you think that's accurate? Do most of the events start on time or is there leeway for late arrivals? Just hoping not to get lost...... Can't drive 100 mph as still in the "break-in period" - haha!
