Hope I am making the right choice...

I am currently looking for a new car. I have looked at/test drove every car on the market. Oddly enough I fell in love with a girl name Mini. I haven't ordered one yet. Still trying to do some research and make sure I am doing the right thing. Most likely I will get the MCS but i was wondering....how long does it take to get delivered and do you have to put a deposit down. First time buying a new car.

Welcome to NAM and the world of MINI. My dealer required a $500 deposit on our MINI orders. If you live in the NorthEast, count on something like 6-8 weeks from the time you place your order and when your MINI arrives at the dealership. Time can vary as it is subject to timing and how much allocation your dealership gets. The way it works is that MINI allocates your dealership so many cars a month - these cars are in the computer system as available slots and are configured with various options. When you order your MINI, it replaces one of the pre-configured ones in the slot. There is a faq on the mini2.com site that has a great deal of information on the ordering and tracking of a MINI.

It took me about 8 weeks from deposit to delivery. I actually had a bit of buyers remorse at first, but now I'm totally in love! It takes a bit to get used to her being so small but that is the beauty of it! It is just like driving a go cart around. I have an AB MC packages 1 and 2. I drove the a ton of other smaller cars but always came back to mini! My 2 and 1/2 year old son LOVES it too!
Good Luck and Happy Motoring!

Welcome to NAM! My MINI was also my first new car. No regrets! You will probably have to put down $500 or $1000 to place an order. The wait varies.

How long between the date of your order and delivery of your MCS?

I ordered mine on 1-2-07 and will be picking it up at the dealer's on Thursday, March 1st. I could have had it about one week earlier but I wanted 3M paint and glass protection and with the new models arriving it took a few days to schedule that.

+1....My dealer required a $1000 "fully refundable" deposit, up to and including the day of delivery. Took me almost 7mos to get mine, which was a lot sooner than the 12mos estimated wait I was first told. ....but then that was back in Feb '04 when dealers were swamped with orders and short on allocations.
Plus I didn't want to spend the $2-3000 over MSRP premimum that some Cali dealers were charging.
Worth every minute wait......paid cash at delivery
Been "drivin' it like I stole it" ever since.
Welcome
