Just got back from Prestige Mini, and I have even better news HOPEFULLY, if the other dealer they are waiting on will except a swap for the car that I want, All will be good.
It is a new 06 Dark Silver Metallic MCS, roof in same color (figure I could get it painted black later) premium pkg, cold weather pkg, sport pkg, Harmon Kardon, black panther leatherette, interior surface anthrocite. $25,000, got them down from $25,600, and they are including ipod adaptor, all season mats, and black bonnet stripes in the deal. Deffinatly a better deal than the other place offered me, the BRG had no climate control, and ob computer for the same price. Also they will beat ELoan's 6.25% apr. Oh Yeah, $7,800 for the Element, and I am romoving the system and throwing cheapo speakers and a crap deck before I trade it in. No way are they getting the Focal components, and Sony CDX-C90 deck. If all is well, I will be in a new Mini by the weekend. I will most definatly miss the Element, and the members of EOC (Element Owners Club), went to alot of good meets, the next owner is sure to get a great used vehicle.

Now all I need are thule ski/snoboard racks for the new MCS

Well today was the big day, I went back to Morristown Mini last night and pretty much matched the deal that was offered at Prestige Mini. Picked up the original BRG MCS today, and already put on 102 miles on it in just a couple hours. Man I love this thing, it is fast as hell compared to the Element, and the handleing WOW. I'll post pics soon.

Congrats on buying a MINI!

I'm a bit confused, though...

In your original post, you described what sounded like a fantastic car from Prestige with all the bells & whistles you wanted PLUS iPod adapter, bonnet stripes, etc. with fantastic financing and a nice trade-in value for the Element.

But then you posted about going back to Morristown and getting the BRG which "didn't have climate control" for the same price.

Did the swap deal with the other dealership fall through?

The one at prestige fell through. The car turned out to be nat available. This BRG MC is the origional one that I looked at a couple weeks ago, but reneged on my deposit. I went back there last night and told the salesman at Morristown Mini what I was offered at Prestige and they prettymuched matched it. I got the Ipod adapter, winter floormats, and the same tradein value on the element. Both of these MCS's were pretty much comparably priced. The green one that I have looks much better because of the black stripes and roof, eventhough it does'nt have climate cont, and computer. It has the moon roof, multi funct wheel, sport pkg, and cold weather. chrome line interior, HK. I am very happy with it, I already put on over 100 miles in just a couple hours. Now I have to see about a clear bra solution, and snowboard rack.

Congrats on the BRG MCS!

Hope your g-friend warms up to having a new Mini vs well-aged Honda elephant.

IMO, the cupholder needs to go. That may make the g-friend a bit more content as she'll have some room for her left knee, other than banging it into that console-mounted big gulper.

Welcome to NAM. I've never visited the EOC site, but I think you'll be happy with the info and family here at NAM.

You'll LOVE your MINI! It has really nice specs

You can always add the onboard computer... but most of us never use it! (Like Yucca, I only use mine when my gas needle is on the red line!)

congrats!
I tried to do a search, and can't find anything about installing the OB computer after the fact. Can someone give me some info on this if they know of any? I am loving my MINI, in just 14 days I already have 1000 miles on it. It's funny, I look foward to getting in the MINI for the morning commute to work, and I find myself taking the scenic routes more. I love it! Thanks for the warm welcome everbody.

Now I have to get to some meets. I am going to an Element camping meet in the sring with it, made lots of good friends over there, boy will I be the odd ball.
