New MINI Owner and Member
Hey! I'm the proud owner of a new 2006 MINI Checkmate in Astro Black/Silver....got is at a Christmas present! Also, this is my first manual transmission, so I'm having to learn to drive pretty much all over again, but am starting to get the hang of it. Looking forward to being a part of this board!
BTW, how in the world do I get one of those cute MINIs in my signature like half the people on this site have? Is there a special site where you can design a siggy to reflect your specific car? Thanks for any help!

This forum is as addicting as your new MINI.
The signature collection is in the MINI Talk forum. It's a sticky. How to get everything to apper the way you want is a bit more of a challenge.

Welcome to the board! What a great Christmas present and whoever gave it to you has excellent taste in color choice! We can't wait to see some photos, in case you hadn't picked up on that yet. My MINI was my first manual transmission as well. I LOVE it and I'm sure you will too!!

Wow....thanks for all the welcomes! Our digital camera died, but I'm getting a new one tomorrow, so hope to post pics soon!
In answer to some questions....MAC did get me the MINI (or rather allowed me to purchase it myself!) and he is my husband. My vanity plate says "MACSGRL" as well. Got the windows tinted yesterday (13% in back and 32% on the door windows) so it looks very nice now and won't be so hot during our GA summers!
