Hi guys. I am brand new to this community and I must say, I happened to stumble onto this site. It is quite impressive and intimidating to a new comer. I have an 03 MCS, electric blue all through "clean", no stripes, with militek cat back, alta CAI, momo shifter, 17" konigs on runflats, H sport suspension and anti roll bar, ngk ignition and wires. I am happy with the car for the most part, but I was quite disappointed with the leather sport seats. I looked into after market seats but was told that altering them might make the airbags obsolete.
If anyone out there has a remedy to this, I am all eyes and ears.

i too am not to happy with the seats and the ONLY reason why i havent replaced them, besides tons of cash, is because i like my heated seats. i havent heard about aftermarket seats messing with the airbags before. your gonna have to hit up an expert for that one.
i would like to hear about your findings.
aside from that....welcome to the club.

Don't be intimidated... The natives are friendly!

Let me be among the first to welcome you to the NAM family!

Nice MINI you got there. I'm sorry that I cannot answer your question but I'm sure that there are those out here in MINI-Land that can. Be patient and soon you shall have your answer!

BTW, how about some pics of your ride? Those are always appreciated! Yes they are!!

Welcome to NAM, ushman! There are some who have replaced their seats, but they give up two of the airbags in doing so. As was suggested, check out the exterior/interior mods forum for ideas. We'd love to see pix of your MINI! Happy motoring and enjoy the site!

There is a work-around for the airbags. Any good BMW mechanic can fix that. If you end up selling the sport seats, I'm looking to buy some.

Good luck.
